Installed the kit last week with an Icon AAL (no overload)

Looks and drives FANTASTIC. Also moved up to 265/75r16 E-rated KO2s.

Does not seem overly stiff to me at all, though I’m comparing it to TRD OR shocks with 130K miles on them.

I was worried about bro-lean with my access cab, but ended up with slight rake just like I wanted. It looks classy and only subtly “lifted”, which is what I was going for.

Overall, going with this kit was the best decision I’ve made on my truck.

 

Also, sorry to double-post, but here are my measurements if it can potentially help somebody trying to make a choice (2007 4.0L AC 4x4):

Wow you got 3" of lift. This kit was definitely designed for the crew cab. I installed the baja on mine. I have the 2.7 4x4 access cab with arb bumper and winch. I'm at 22 1/2" in the front. I'm actually switching out to 600lb coils to drop it down some and softened the ride more.

 

I guess I did! But it doesn’t look as intense as what I thought 3” would. If you had told me I'd get 3" before install, I would have been scared the 265/75s would look tiny (not at all the case) and stayed in my state of analysis-paralysis on choosing a suspension upgrade.

But a few thoughts on this:

1) This was right after a post-install alignment, so more settling is possible.
2) I was on a very worn front suspension (before measurements under 20”).
3) The weight difference between a 4.0L 4x4 AC vs DCSB is only 80lbs (see attachment, and thank you to @crashnburn80 for this nugget)
4) Hub to fender measurements are a bit janky due to eye-ballin' of the center of the wheel cap.

 

Yeah I though it would be more weight difference. Its definitely a difference for me being a 4cyl. But I was shocked when I installed mine. I didn't have the bumper and winch on yet. I was like 23 1/2 hub to fender. My springs are 650 though. I think it should be 21 1/2 and 22 with this set up. Right now I feel I don't have much down travel. The ball joint is limiting any more. I'm glad you posted your results though. My springs never settle anymore after the initial break in. I'm hoping to drop maybe another 1/2" with the 600lbs springs.

 

My numbers for you to reference 2015 Access Cab V6 4x4 with a topper on the bed. I added a single 2 inch lift add a leaf to the rear keeping my OverLoad and HS 1/4 inch top plate spacer to the fronts.

I did install 600lbs springs on friday and it made a pretty big difference in the ride for me. I dropped 1/2" I'm at 22" now but probably will drop little more after a couple miles. I'm pro instead of baja now.

 

How many miles on you Baja springs ? Are you selling them

Anyone have a good suggestion on how to obtain another inch of lift in the front end with this set up with out compromising the ride quality ?

 

Change springs out for 700 lb or buy proper coilovers?

Or get a top hat spacer but that might jack your ride quality.

 

I used toytec’s spring perch spacer. I like the ride still, not too stiff.

 

Do you also have any UCAs after you added the spacer?

 

Nope, still on stock UCA’s. Was still able to get good alignment numbers, but planning to do new uppers and lowers the next time I buy tires.

 

I plan on installing my soon. But want to wait until I get new UCA so I can install both at the same time.

 

I have been considering doing this. Good to know it does not destroy the ride quality road suck where i live. Also good to know I wont need new upper control arms because I dont have the money and or any interest in buying them. Thank you
