I hate DST

I was going to bitch that my brand-new-today truck's clock would be wrong tomorrow, but I see it is set to auto-update by GPS. Sweet - all devices should do this.

But, ya know, I strongly prefer having the sun in the middle of the sky as close to clock noon as possible.

 

All I know is I'll get one less hour of sleep tonight since I have to work tomorrow. Guess they didn't think about people having to work on a Sunday in 1918. Bastards!

Another reason to abolish it. People work on Sunday now.

 

Go to bed an hour earlier.... problem solved

 

Fuck that noise. I might miss something.

 

If I tried that I'd lay in bed wide awake past the normal sleep time. I did edge the yard after work to wear me out somemore...

 

Daylight Saving Time Is Not the Enemy

 

What a load of horseshit...that's like saying "don't blame the mexican food i ate, blame the diarreah ."

 

I’ve said for a long time, why don’t we split the difference and adjust by a half hour and call it good for ever.

 

Only thing about DST is that my Brother who lives in Hawaii is now 3hrs behind or Hawaiin Aleutian standard time

 

I'm retired DST doesnt bother me !!!!!

 

Hawaii doesn’t have, but it’s harder for me to do business with east coast people cause they are closed by 9-10am so I hate it too

 

We get fewer dust storms than the North East gets snow storms... And after a few hours things are back to normal.

Just saying...

 

Changing an hour twice a year? Piece of cake. Try losing an hour a night for more than a week sailing a ship across an ocean. Or, if you're on a fast ship, lose a couple of hours on some of those nights. And, on top of that your work week starts at 80 hours. It gets even better if you have a captain who would rather give you two Mondays when crossing the international date line than two Sundays, or skip Sunday entirely. (Sunday is the traditional day off at sea where you only work an 8 hour day).

Twice a year? I just don't see what the big deal is.

 

X 10...pick one and go with it! There is no reason for changing the clock, I've heard others defend DST til they're blue in the face without hearing a valid point in their argument. I have worked a lot of night shifts in my time and had plenty of artificial light brought in.
Stop the insanity America!!

 

I visited Tanzania. The locals simply start time at sun up and end at sun down.

Arizona chooses not to decide and are on Pacific time for the next several months.

Natural light deprivation is real so if we were smart enough as a society to adjust gradually around the sun we would be happier, but institutions such as schools and retailers are epoch slow at looking to data when making decisions.

 

I don't mind it at all, I like the extra light, getting dark at 5pm in the middle of winter sucks balls.

 

DST switch sucked for me. Drove to work in the dark, was tired all day...

 

My wife would agree with you "nuff said" She will still let me know she hates the change for the next 2-3 weeks

Actually Colorado put forth a bill as such to just change time 1/2 hour year round.....bill failed
