Found a used set of 884 coils on craigslist. Added them and bilstein 5100s on my 2018 off-road long bed. Didn’t do anything to the rear. Got about an inch and a 1/4 out of the setup so still has a little rake. Shouldn’t settle as they were used on a 4Runner for a bit. Already was running 265 75 16 wildpeaks on 16x8 0 offset wheels. Will enjoy the better shocks as well.

Taco lean is mild on this truck if any

Install went well. Not too bad at all if you have the right sized tools. Only took 2.5 hours by myself.

Local shop wanted 350 for a 1.5 inch spacer lift installed and aligned so I kept browsing cl for coils.
    Found the coils for $80
    Front shocks for $200
    Alignment was $60
So for about the same money I lifted it a much better way in my opinion.
I know I could have just bought the 5100s and ran them on the third perch, but didn’t want to preload them and found the springs cheap.

I’ll get some better pics tomorrow. Ran out of daylight today. Seems to ride nice with the new coils and 5100s set at 0.

Reviving this thread. After much research thinking of going this route for my 2019 ACLB TRD Sport with 265/70 17s on TRD Pro Sema rims.

Are there any other coil springs similar to the OME 884s out there I should consider?

I'm only looking for 1.5" Lift in front and will add 1.5" aals in rear with Bilstein 5100s. Also have a ARE CX shell and Shrockworks sliders on order. Bed mat weighs about 32 lbs so these 3 components will add about 300lbs to mid and rear of truck.

I haul camping gear and kayaks at times and don't mind the factory rake when lifted.

Actually got rid of the 884s and went with the 5100s on third perch. The 884s sagged more than I thought they would. I would recommend 885s at least if you’re going to do an aal in the rear.
884s first pic and 5100s in second pic.

No problem. Should be just fine with stock uca’s as well. Good luck and hopefully it turns out the way you want it.

I went 884's and haven't noticed any sag in 3k miles. If it does can always go up one notch on 5100's

Looks good. Stock rear end? He does have an access cab but is adding an add a leaf.

Yea no leaf in the back just lifted the front. I just don’t get why op would remove 884’s and put the stock springs back on, then use third perch on shock. Why not leave 884 and go up one notch?

Yeah, I’m the OP. Supposedly not supposed to preload ome springs. I switched back to stock springs and then sold the 884s for about the cost of the new alignment. I guess I could have kept them and moved them up a perch but didn’t know how they would ride. Would hate to have to take them out again and go back to stock springs if they didn’t ride well.

I'm in the same boat. Thanks for the information. Probably go with the same setup but something in the rear to keep the factory rake.

The more I think I about it the 885s seem about right.

I am adding approximately 300lbs though most of it is in the middle and rear. 3 leaf 1.5" AALs will be needed for the rear and plan to use 5100s all the way around. No winch or steel bumper planned.
Rear weight: Approximately 200lbs (A.R.E. Shell approximately 175lbs. Bed mat weighs 32lbs)

    Mid Weight: Sliders weigh 90lbs

Since my tires are 265/70 17s I'm hoping for 1.5"- 1.75" lift using the 885s with the 5100s set at 0 as recommended. Might use a 1/4" spacer for the Taco lean.

Should look about right. Headstrong's lift guide lists 1.75" for the 885s and if it settles at 1.5" then its still perfect for my needs.

I believe their posted lift heights are settled measurements already.

I only went with 884’s because I didn’t want to lift the rear. 885’s would have caused me to have a bro lean.

How is your ride compared to stock with the stock springs and the 3rd perch? I'm thinking of going this same route with my truck. I'm in a Sport though, so might be quite a bit different ride for me, I've never driven a Taco with the offroad suspension.

Firms up the ride a little but not much different than stock. Nose dive when braking is minimized. Doesn’t bother me at all.

    Too much.
I have 884s and feel as though they settled a bit, but they still look good.
