The bathroom hasn't been updated since the late 60s. We're taking the walls back to the original lathe/studs and reworking it all. At this point, Lynn's mom lives there and Lynn's siblings stay upstairs when they come to visit. After Lynn's Mom is gone we will probably turn it into a vacation rental for skiers, etc. So, we want the bathroom to be clean functional - putting in all new fixtures and putting in a tiled shower instead of the plastic bath unit.

Here's how it looked last night.

Looks good Mark. The final outcome should be a nice little money maker for the both of you in retirement. Might even make enough to support your firearms hobby.

Does the government still impose the 10% gas guzzler tax on vehicles?

Agreed. I am a sedan and pickup kind of guy. I miss the larger sedans where 6 persons could sit comfortably but I like the new technology in cars today. Sometimes we all need to change our expectations.

Living Room update: We officially start this Saturday. Mt wife's eye surgery went well so there are no worries about extra dust in the air. While waiting for Saturday I am in the process of ripping over 300 CD's to a SSD then setting up an old Synology DS211J into a multi media server for music and videos. The hard media takes up too much room and I can copy and get rid of the older media. As a bonus I can also store pictures if I want to.

I do not have a problem with asking people that use something to pay for something. 1 person in a 6 passenger car. Why not pay the added fee? 6 people in a 6 passenger car are at an advantage for saved fuel cost per person. But not if just one person.
Gas Tax, if you do not buy gas, you do not pay the tax. Off road does not pay the 'on road' diesel tax.
I do realize that that thinking does not apply to everything. There are some costs that we all pay for, even though we may not use them. Like National Parks.
I have always believed that people on welfare should do volunteer work.

But, I did not buy my truck for the fuel mileage, even though I know the mileage every time I fill up.

Ken the only problem I see is people on welfare doing volunteer work. About 60% of the people on welfare have income tax paying jobs so the volunteer work would need to be structured to take that into account.

Volunteering is something everyone needs to be doing in today's America. The city I live in is pretty well off considering the economic times we have been in for the last 12 years. I just stopped volunteering on two committees last July but I continue to volunteer on the Green Team with two sub groups.

Any of you 60+ members use a Fumoto valve to drain your oil pan when changing oil?

Just ordered one for my Tacoma and plan to install on my next oil change in about 2k miles.

Yes I use one on the Tacoma. No issues at 123K on the motor.
