There’s been some balancing issues. Contact whoever you purchased the tires from or call Falken directly and they should take care of you.

"There's been" meaning the problem has been corrected? I mean, I'm sure some of the bad tires are still in circulation, but has it been corrected on the manufacturing level?

From a design standpoint I don’t think there is any problems. However a tire is only as good as the components used and people building them. That being said we definetly have some struggles in our plant. Obviously we have quality control measures to try and stop bad tires from exiting the plant. Considering the amount of components we reject and material and product we end up scrapping, I think majority of the problems people have with their tires are more so balance installation related rather than conformity. There is no such thing as a perfectly uniform bias ply or radial tire, regardless of the manufacturer.

Bad tires are made all the time, by all manufacturers. Unfortunately like with anything sometimes things with defects or product failures occur. This is why warranties are offered.

I don’t work in the department that builds the Wildpeaks. I believe the biggest issue they had was something related the molds or something to due with blemishes or something. It was a repairable fix.

As far as “bad tires” there was a bunch of them that were illegally introduced. What must of happened was tires that were meant to be scrapped were taken and sold. These tires had DOT info cut or removed from the sidewalls. Falken had a safety message on their website about it, however it’s since been removed. This was a few years ago, and couldn’t of been a lot of tires. However from a legal standpoint they have to take action. My guess is they were sold locally (black market) around our area. Anything you buy from a store or distributor wouldn’t of been effected. You’d know if you had one.

After trying to google the link for that I seen articles about 5k tires that were mislabeled. Obviously there was a problem with a mold with the wrong info on it. It said the tire had 5 plys instead of 4. Obviously it was a mold that was made incorrectly. Something that’s hard to spot, and probably was 1 out of hundreds that we have in the plant.

Make sure your tires are being balanced correctly. If they are and still having an issue, try a roadforce balance. If all else fails contact the seller or Falken directly to see about a replacement. Even my Wildpeaks weren’t balanced correctly. Here is a link about the balancing dots: hopefully it’s helpful

I just got a set of these and I’m having some balancing issues. I have a 2018 off-road model. Should I ask them to use the red dot or the yellow dot when rebalancing on the factory off-road rims?

    Some stuff
I am over these tires. Got mine from DTD, not local. Had to get them road forced. Still shake a bit when cold or when the truck has sat a couple days. Randomly vibrates bad on the highway.

Wish I went with a local vendor so I could ram these up someone's a$$. No issues with DTD, not a reflection on them.

Sucks, as I really want to like the tires. Theyre great other than vibration.

Interior LEDs, all weather mats, TRD performance CAI, trifold hard tonneau cover, predator pro step, accessory interior/exterior illumination package. Kicker tweeters, Kicker speakers.
You had the Transmission TSB completed, can I ask your build date? Is it for all Tacoma’s, or is it for a range of VINs? Truck looks great with the Wildpeaks.

I have no clue. I didn’t pay attention to the machine they had in the shop. I had them mounted at discount tire.
Im specially referring to the yellow and red marks on the tire. What does Falken recommend as to using these for optimal balancing?

Called America's Tire... Ordered these in 265/75/R16 SL for $110 a tire! Thanks for the Ebay link and the advice on price matching!!! With mounting and balancing ($20 a tire) and taxes and wonderful California environmental fees... $566 total.

Will post some pictures when I get them on!

    Thanks again!!!

Thanks for the recommendation guys... a nice compromise between stock and 33”s. At first, I was thinking I should have gone bigger but that’s a rabbit hole I’m not ready for. Truck rides great!

8112s up front with Camburg moog UCAs and 5160s in the rear with Wheeler’s 2 1/2” 3 pack AAL. I wanna be humble...but honest: the ride kicks ass. I can hit speed bumps that bury other trucks with Foxes at 40 mph and it just soaks up them up. I get a little buck in the rear, but I’m guessing that’s the 5160s and that 8100s would take care of that.... I let a friend drive it who has raced in the Baja 500 and 1000 and while he’s an “amateur” he was amazed... —said those 8112s were well worth the money...

I don’t know if I will ever do the 8100s but I’m very happy with what I have. Ride is simply amazing... soft like stock over anything at any speed and no dipping or diving and no roll... as someone else said.... “should have come from the facorty like this....”
