i will tell you this much... I have rear speakers but not much good are they! .. I turned the fader on the headunit to only rear speakers and I cannot hear them the volume level is so low, I have never looked into the issue all these years either, but am thinking of getting a 4th gen headunit with FLAC usb and maybe figure out what the deal is

wonder if anybody with the fist model year xtracabs even had all 4 speakers?

i had been looking at a double din touch screen unit like you have but not sure if I would loose the little pouch/cubby hole under there, do those just fold up and tuck in to hideaway?

I have EWD for 95.5 and it shows option for 4 speakers. So if they never made it at least they had such design.

We know of at least 3 95’s that did not come with rear speakers, mine included. I’m just curious now weather it was an option for 95 or not? Seems like in 96 it was standard.

Mines an 05/95 with just under 180000. I drive it to college and back almost every day. I try to alternate between vehicles so I won't put too many miles on it and I'm slowly fixing it back up to like new condition.

Sorry for the bad picture taken while doing my seat belts, but you can see the storage compartment cover on the left side.

    Hey!
    You have interior lining!
Mine’s mostly bare metal on both the sides & back of the cab (regular cab).

Had a 05/96 paradise blue metallic that I sold. 138,000 original miles. Ran perfectly. I think I should buy it back

Here's a question for anyone out there, was it an option for a first gen Tacoma with bucket seats to have a center console? I bought my first gen used and it didn't have a console with it. I'm curious because I'm trying to restore it to its factory look

Yeah. I've also wondered if my Tacoma had a center consol. Because i feel like it would be nice to have one. @1997tacomav6 has one in his truck.

not sure about the '95.5, very curious if only certain trim package had them or not, I have bucket seats in mine with center console, 97 model year xtracab

Were bucket seats in a single cab optional or was the bench standard?
I got tired of that bench seat in my 95 pre-Taco single cab, the long drives to KC (3hrs) and STLouis (7hrs) twice a month for nearly 3yrs hard on the buttocks :(

Maybe it was just a trim thing? It would be handy tho.

@1997tacomav6 has the same interior as our trucks, but with wood accsents on the dash.
