Do you happen to have a 22r laying around or something? Dunno why anyone would want that engine in a truck, no horsepower at all.

What v6? The 5vzfe is plenty capable and reliable(tacoma v6). The 3vz isnt that great(which is for pretacomas)

But if you can get your hands on a 5vzfe to replace the 3vz it will be a simple swap. Engine mounts should line up. Just need a ecu and either an adaptor for the tranny or the newer tranny

Go 5vz, if you cant, get the 22re. 22r is carborated, RE is EFI. Yotatech.com is a better site for toyota pickups than this one. Id check there for info.

    Same crap everyone else got
1990 would have a 3.0 v6 which had a huge head gasket issue. It was heavy with no power and was backed by a chain drive tcase. Nothing wrong with the tcase but if you swap in a 22r you can also use the gear driven tcase they used, but a 2nd tcase and adaptor and run dual cases for super low gearing to crawl. So I can see why someone would swap if they are replacing the 3.slow

Op from you asking I think this is far more work then what you want to get involved in.

22R series replacing a 3.0 frame side of the engine mounts need to be replaced find the new mounts cut the old ones off weld the new ones on

Engine and Engine Harness with the ECU then merging the new ecu to the cab harness

Meaning You really Should have the EWD`s of the truck and the one for the year of vehicle the engine came from .

No matter which swap you go of a different engine with you always have the merging of the wire harnesses

Then there is always those things that while not major do arise fuel lines exhaust connections all those annoying little things

There is nothing wrong with the 22R or 22RE for what it is A little over 100 horse power in a heavy vehicle .

Once I did my first 3.4 swap though I kinda stopped driving them to be truthful unless I really had to

a dropped one and a high one
    Lets make it easy.

If you have to ask this question, you cannot do it.

Not trying to be rude, just a huge undertaking, for little reward, for a lot of money better spent elsewhere.
