Are you running stock springs? I would say you need more than an AAL. I'd get a full set of HD Dakars. Also add a better progressive bumpstop from Wheelers.

 

That's the thing, those are OME EL095R with Timbren bump stops...
I installed a bumper with a swingout and that's what happen.

I have timbren with OME/dakars and getting rid of them and icon hydrobumps go on Tuesday!! They are more for constant overload not dampening which the hydrobumps will take care of.

I think the HD is part # EL096R. Not 95. I say that because I was just confirming that to myself yesterday. So maybe an extra leaf in there will help out. At least you’re addressing the issue. I imagine if you left it you’ll end up have some real damage

 

Correct the EL096R has double over load. You can order the extra load spring for the EL095R to make the 096R.

 

Mobil XHP Moly is a toyota recommend grease, its superior to heat and water. Its thicc stuff. Been using it for years

Yupp, that's exactly what it is. I didn't expect installing a bumper with a swing out that's why I got medium one.
I was hoping they would work with the bumper/swingout option since it's not too heavy.. .the issue is not only weight itself, but also where it is located- huge leverage since it's outside of vehicle.
I removed the swingout, ordered aal and some more things, and hopefully I'll be able to install all of it in a few weeks.
I'm just concerned a bit of my Dakars being damaged already, and I would hate to do all the work installing aal onto bad leafs

 

Hmm, it will work great on bunch of things, but what about Poly bushings. Most recommend some either silicone, or molybdenum grease.

No, I installed a Deaver AAL

Yes. As with any spring. Mine did roughly a half inch in 10k miles empty. With weight they dropped an additional inch in another 10k.

I don't plan on adding a bumper, and 85% of the time I don't have anything in the back. I like the factory ride quality and I actually like the feel of factory offroad. Just need bigger tires, more clearance, and more aggressive look.

you can go more than 2.5" w/o getting into too many issues with geometries. although you should re-consider and get adjustable uca's that will make alignments easier.

that setup will be stiffer than factory. most aftermarket off road is going to be stiffer over smaller stuff like bumps and cracks and more pliable with larger events which is not what you described as your typical use. I would stick to stock until they are worn out then upgrade. also 15% of the time when something is in the back, how much weight and over what terrain?

 

Thanks Kasnerd- I would get UCA's if it meant I could get a better alignment. I only haul stuff over pavement house/landscaping, beach, tailgate. Road trips. I don't camp I drop my stuff off at the hotel room then hit trails, hike, bring my MT Bike etc.
I wonder whats my best option for 2- 2.5in that gives me great value on and off road
