Meth is the way to go, it cools the air charge effectively but up to 100 degrees and it isn't just filler because you can use it as a fuel source as well. Just gotta remember to fill the tank or if you have a tunable computer, change to a safer ignition map when the low level alert comes on.

Did you get your compressor and exhaust turbine back together yet?

Well if they're nicked don't try putting your new seal in until you touch up the nicks with some crocus cloth or something to polish the sealing surfaces.

Its not an. investment Ill tell you that much. I would say if you plan on flooring it as much as possible then by all means have fun, but otherwise unless you're competing than why?

Definitely not an investment like a house but it is more so than you'd think with 1st gen price always threatening to go back up as all old toyota trucks eventually do. If you get the fun out of it now and it helps the resale a bit I don't see the harm in that. Plus running these things to redline before every shift is great fun, the torque peak is around 4800rpm anyway so you might as well get all that power out for fun.

There's no tune options for 1st gens besides running standalone computers or piggyback computers, which is totally awesome but rather expensive. I drove a stock v6 18 and it was a complete dog compared to a v6 second gen so I can totally understand the need for the OV Tune and I'm glad he's been improving the experience for you guys, a good tuner is a real asset. It's nice to think that the newer ECUs are tunable too, that way people have some options to adjust when y'all get the itch for turbos, it's coming they're getting close to old enough now where people will start having real fun with em.

I just got done installing a magnuson on my 01 3.4. I have to say it was way to easy. Took it out today and it’s a lot more fun to drive. Did it by myself in my garage. Well worth it. I still have the 7th injector and 2.2 pulley to install. For now it has a noticeable increase in power. Good investment imo.

104k. Timing belt and misc items under cover were replaced at 93k. OP, if you have the money do it. It’s easy. Truck started up right after and idled perfectly. No check engine light, no hesitation pretty quiet idle. Sc does whine but that’s an added bonus. This is much much easier and cheaper than going turbo. I’m gonna guess it’s making 5-6psi now. Hopefully after pulley and injector set up it’ll hit 8 or 9. Like I said well worth it.

10lbs would be nice. Can the stock motor handle that with 7th injector and or meth inj? What mods are you referring too? Headers? Pulley? Thanks

Depending on your motor if its ping happy. Stock pulley 5-6 pounds of boost probably will not need anything at higher altitudes.
Higher altitude 10 pounds boost you definitely need fuel upgrades which I use methanol for my setup,

i have a stock motor methonal only with 2” pulley at 6000 feet

If you run a stock pulley you might not need any fuel upgrades, depending on your motor.

The smaller pulley will need methonal or 7th injection

Running a stock pulley you will be fine as long as the motor is healthy. My motor popped a head gasket at 480,000 all supercharged miles
