Lip goes face up. There's a pretty good picture in the first post that was taken mid install.

I installed my spacers today. Lining up my right side was tricky and took a few tries to line it up perfectly so the bolts threaded in by hand easily so I didn’t cross thread or strip the bolt holes. The stock bolts have tapered tips I’m sure to avoid this ( I included a picture of them) These seat spacers are pricey , yes , but omg are they huge, heavy and not to mention a hand crafted precision work of art. I used arp bolts (763-1007) because if I got the best seat spacers available why not go all out and get the best bolts on the planet as well. Thank you Rick (op) for making these for all of us. Unless you were looking for them you would never know they’re there. I could immediately tell the seat is at a more comfortable angle now especially with my old worn out lower back. I am 6’ tall with a 32” inseam and was already close to hitting the ceiling in stock form (no sunroof). I was worried that this mod would raise me too high and I would hit the roof with my head but my headroom seems unchanged.

Installed mine today as well. I also had trouble with the left side and did my best to not cross thread. I couldn't get it to go in as easily by hand as the right one but used a wrench and it seem to go in smoothly just some slight resistance.

2nd gen crashing your party in here too :anonymous:
Has any 2nd gens tried these as the feet look really similar to the 2nd gen seat feet. Also can you make them a little taller than 1"? Right now I am running 1.5" of UHMWPE and that seems about perfect for me.

I had to drive an hour to pick up Bushwacker fender flares on Saturday. I thought that it would be a good trial of the spacers. I bought longer bolts from a local hardware store (ARP's are on order).

Huge difference. Had to adjust the rear view mirror, outer mirrors were good. Sunshades are more effective now. I thought, how much difference would an inch make? I now feel like I'm sitting "up" instead of in a constant reclined position.
I loosened the front bolts to make the install easier.

These do also work for 2nd Gen.

Solid aluminum 1.5 inch would be far too much of a price increase, but I am developing two other options to achieve custom lengths.

Isn't the indent for a possible spacer?

Yep. Anybody who ever ordered will be able to buy extensions for much cheaper than another set. This also prevents shipping (on my end) and material costs from going up.

I'll keep the other option on the down low until I actually get a working prototype. My goal with those is to beat the pricing on what is available now, so aluminum will still be the premium option.

Have you thought about including ARP bolts with the spacers? Would that raise the costs too much?

Personally, I would grab flange bolts from McMaster Carr. Not that they are "better", but they do match OEM. Longer spacers may require a different grade as well.

While I do not mind getting popular grades and lengths, keeping all potentials in inventory would create an issue for me. This is exactly why I do not supply the bolts now, knew right where I was going when this all started.

I'm unable to find 10x1.25 flange bolts on McMaster Carr looking at 8.8 and 10.9
