Probably gonna try that as well. I'll have to run back to my house and grab my charger first since my phone's battery is getting bad

So in the first pic that's circled I'm supposed to remove but it's just solid steel the only thing I can remove are the 2 tabs/covers, the second pic I'm trying to figure out if I have to grind those rubber tabs so the slider is flat on the frame and then apparently I need plate shims which I don't have :annoyed:

In the first pic those should be plastic inserts that you pop out for the bolts to go in

I am not sure about the rest, i might just stop by and see whats up

The pdf is definitely handy. I was just having hard time trying to figure it out. Gave up and went home. What's kinda screwing me too is my lack of space in my garagr currently :annoyed:

I’m going to be heading over to Freeburg around 1000 for maybe two hours tops, but if you want you can load it all up and bring it over to the shop, if you want to come before that I’ll open the shop for you so you can get started and then when we wrap up and come back we can help you with the rest. Having a couple of floor jacks to balance it on makes life easier.

I might do that. I bought a floor jack cross beam from harbor freight (flipping nice btw) having the truck jacked up a little would definitely help, can't really do that at my shop at the moment, my truck literally JUST fit in the damn thing. I'll be over in about 45 mins give or take. Gotta go to the west end to get everything. Oh and THANK YOU

I also have the breather mod done to be on the safe side BUT that valve on the rear diff is supposed to be a 1 way pressure valve. It should close when submerged to keep water out.

From what I've read they've been known to fail if the diff is submerged for too long I think

That's why I said if your going to be doing a lot of crossings you should get it done but also keep in mind water can get in there other ways too. Not just the breather. I'm just saying you had a group going to lost creek today and all of sudden thats not happening anymore. I did lost creek plenty of times before I did my breather and when I finally changed my fluid oil at 30,000 miles there wasnt a hint of water.

I definitely agree with G.T. that if your gonna be doing lost creek a lot get it done. It's an easy cheap mod to do. But dont let it deter you from going today.

I honestly wouldn't have been able to go anyway because I'm gonna put my sliders on today. And I'd much rather have a diff breather to be on the safe side. Better to have it and not worry than not have it and start getting paranoid.
