@OVTune , question for you . I know it is Sunday and I hope you are enjoying the day , but with the snow maybe you are housebound .
Let's say we have a truck with the 87 performance tune settled in and running fine on a truck.
Will flashing to the 87 performance tune with gear lock ( and or back)require any resettling/ learning ? I am wondering if the only difference is a change in code for the gear locking and the rest is identical .
Edit - Would like to try it but not if we have to go through resettling again with GL and again if we want to go back .

This may be a custom tuning request, but it may be worth adding in as a option.

For S-mode, can you default the D>S transition to S5, instead of S4? I think the manual says that it may default to S3,4, or 5, but mine has always gone straight to S4. If I'm at highway speeds in D, and want to change, I would rather it just downshift to 5th instead of straight to 4th.
Also, is there a way to add in being able to hold the shifter down for ~1 sec and it change to S1 (similar to pushing and holding it up will put it to S6)? Obviously, this could be a safety risk if someone tries to do this at speed, so maybe find a way to do it at a dead stop (like traction control).

unnecessary unless you have immediate large issues or issues after a tank of gas.

Go ahead and roast me for not following instructions, but I cannot get the flash manager to work.

I downloaded and installed via the link in the first post.

Installed ok, but when I went to open gave the following error:

I thought, well maybe it needs the registry file from Matt to work, so I installed that. Still fails.

I find the instructions quite confusing and fragmented, any help on what is probably a simple fix?

No dice. That what I did the first 3 times, then I tried from the link to the post Matt sent me with my registry file and I just tried it again, just now, from the first post.

I'm also uninstalling between every install of the flash manager.

GL in Base tune would be a welcomed addition.
91 Base is the tune my truck prefers.

Mat, is it possible to have a Performance Gearlock tune that goes in to gearlock mode with just a switch to S mode (no need to press ECT), and ECT still be functional in D? So this tune would have gearlock in S mode, and D with or without ECT.

    Yep, Quoting myself.

I dug around a little. Seems like there is an error in the installation of Visual C++ with the OVTune Flash Manager file.

I downloaded Visual C++ separately from Microsoft, and unchecked it when installing Flash Manger.

    This seems to have work.

Just wanted to give a heads up!

I had the same issue with the 64 bit package. I downloaded the 32 bit package and it worked fine. (I have a 64 bit OS)

Tried 91 base over 91 gearlock and it’s much more smooth. Shifts alot more smooth Does not have the same power as performance but it has more than the previous 1.05 base did. But it shifts smoother than 1.05 gearlock

Just loaded 87 perf. now that it's time to fill-up(87 oct), ran 93 perf for the first couple weeks.

Anyone do the same and notice a big difference in power when going to 87 perf. on 87?

    So.... what do you think:

I'm on 87 / 1.05 and pretty happy with ECT & SSP, certainly happier than stock or 1.04.

By the sounds of things, unless I want more power while going fast (something I avoid) there aren't many noticeable gains to be had and maybe I sit pat ?

    What say you ?

Sounds about right, for now. The new hybrid calibration we are working on splits ignition tables and will use feedback correction from the knock sensor so one can switch octanes without switching tunes. You can expect around the same results as the dyno-jet results we have recently posted.

If you're looking for big power... boost.
