Maybe 30K miles on the shocks. I'm 99% sure you can run King shims in ADS Shocks.

Nope, haven't planned that far ahead yet, lol. I was waiting to see how many people would come and get a better idea of what the weather will be like that day to make a plan. Though I can say that since my wife won't be able to join, I won't have any issues staying out all day, so I'm pretty much down for anything.

Anyone looking to do a relocation? I have a set of King 2.5x12s with adjusters available if anyone is interested.

FYI to those interested, these won’t work with bamf relocation. Archive garage makes a relo that will work, or @glorifiedwelder makes some sick shock hoops.

    Bamf only fits 2.0”

I thought some people have figured out how to make a BAMF kit fit a 2.5? Took some extra finesse but was doable.

I think it takes the fabricator doing a lot of trial and error, but I’ve heard it’s not worth the struggle to fit them when there are options out there to fit it easier. I have the bamf kit and it seems like 2.5” shocks wouldn’t fit, but I do think you are right that some have figured it out.

From my readings, it sounds like the lower shock mount is the real issue. The top bracket is tight but the lower takes the most modification. I agree with you in saying there are easier and more direct ways to fit a 2.5" on the market now so why go through the hassle but the BAMF is half the price of any other option out there.

I used to do the bamf kits with 2.5’s before archive came out with a kit. The bamf kit will work with 2.5’s but it is pretty tight on the upper mount, my worry is if the customer changes out suspension parts post relocation install they may run into interference issues with the shocks and mounts due to a slight geometry change, so I made the decision to turn down all future installs on 2.5’s with the bamf relocation. If the customer is willing to roll the dice on install just to save $200 then that’s not the customer for me. With that said plenty of guys are running 2.5’s with the bamf kit with no issues.

That makes perfect sense. Realistically, if it takes a lot of work for fitment on a BAMF kit there should be additional labor cost accrued. In the long run, it would be a wash as far as install price and the Archive kit allows for a greater variety of shock choice post install.

It really doesn’t involve much of any extra work. If I did installs for a living I’d probably still do them, but my free time to do installs is limited so I prefer to pick and choose jobs with an outcome I’m sure everyone will be happy with. A lot of guys that do 2.0x12 relocations express that they wished they had gone with 2.5’s so it makes the ost sense to stick with relocations that will allow for growth in the future of the customers build. I think if the goal is to stay 2.0’s then the bamf kit is a great way to go and offers better tire clearance than the archive kit with 2.0x12’s

@eon_blue Any ideas for what trails you would want to run on Saturday?

@dtaco06 are you still down to join?

I was thinking something around Big Bear, maybe there will still be some snow to mess around in.

If anyone else wants to come, you're all more than welcome! Any input on trails and conditions are appreciated as well.

yeah Big Bear sounds good, I'm sure there's still a good amount of snow up there, I know that last night the mountains got hit pretty hard with a storm.

We did Heartbreak last time so maybe White Mountain? That one's fun when there's some snow on the ground
