The anger here revives a bit of hope in humanity for me. With all the shotgun shells and broken beer bottles I've cleaned from some of the trails I frequent, I just assumed most offroading types just didnt give a shit.

 

Educate your buddies or else we will lose the privilege to drive in these areas!

 

It's still a pretty simple conversation. Restructure it a bit. Change the topic to things we can do or not do to help ensure the trails we have been generously granted to use stay public and open.

Simple things like not modifying the trail structure, leaving no trash behind, and not defacing surfaces off designated trails would help. Same as choosing appropriate times to travel if you live in an area with a sensitive water table , assisting in trail days and being prepared to avoid unnecessary costly rescues.

Regardless , the marking bit it still on there, yet I don't feel anyone has a right to define a "consequence" or anything. It was just a dumb move. Don't do it.

 

Agreed.

We just need to look at the trails and monuments as if they are our very own prized possessions. And treat them with the same care we would our own property.

The problem I always have with this part is it’s never an apology, just a wall of text lecturing us about it and explaining how they’ve been victimized by it all. Followed a week later by a sale or a giveaway.

This non-Binary nonsense came up the other day. According to project runway, and it's network Lifetime. Non-Binary at least as far as females are concerned. They are women, who are born female, and identify as a woman. Edit, Oh wait I forgot. They may or may not identify as male or female, or neither.

You would think that's what a woman originally was. Nope, not today, they are reffered to as Non-Binary women.

Exactly. I hope they do own up, because the Tacoma community IS so closely knit. If they don't fix it, apologize or contact the BLM to clean up the site; then it only looks bad on the rest of us. The whole community gets punished and we get less land to offroad on in UT and possibly other states.

 

I wish I had popcorn for all of those 50 pages. I find the harder trails thin out the herd pretty quickly and get back to the good times of wheeling and camping. That and winter camping definitely clears out most. The "overland" scene is definitely different.
