You have to look at the silver lining here, Jim has a new car, which means he has a spare car probably for sale

No silver lining here unless hes giving away the spare car. I just blew through the last of my severance and extra money from my first paycheck over the weekend.

I want one! but i also just realized this morning it would require me to spend another $400 to get it rolling....

    $200 HW Axe combo
$120 Reefs 555 (depending on how this repair goes)
    $50 TX/RX
    $10 servo horn

Also, how is the approach angle on that? Front bumper hit a lot?

And, are you liking it more than the SCX?

He just swapped all his electronics, so it just cost the price of the kit $280, I think. Front bumper didn’t seem to get hung up near as bad as the rear did from when I was watching.

Think it can be run without the rear bumper or is there some frame structure support from it?

Hows it compare to the scx10? Mine will need a refresh eventually, itll be down to the trx4 and the scx10.2 builders kits. Unless something new comes out.

It’s a “crawler league”, so it works like a pool or dart league, not your typical style. They started it for people who don’t care about scale points and all that, and just wanna put a little money where their mouth is. I like it

Bill, owner of lone star rc, said he hasn’t sold an Axial rig since oct. Everyone is about that trx life.

Probably would have been more fun. It went to brakes and parts I didnt need for the truck...:anonymous:

I've done pretty good at resisting. Truck parts have kept my wallet empty. Maybe one day and seeing the tacoma bodys is making it harder.

Yep, I swapped over all electronics so it was just the cost of the kit, $279.99. The front bumper is large, but didn't seem to cause as many issues and would skid along the rocks better than the aluminum one on the SCX. The rear bumper stuck out and would hang up on steep climbs. I moved it up and pushed it in as far as it would go. So I'm hoping that solves that. You could also completely remove the bumpers and just leave the mounts that's at the front/back of the chassis if you want to live that @Tundra2Play life.

Although I only got an hour or so with it, I can't give a full review. So far, it seems more capable than the SCX. I was also running the smaller PitBulls, so the larger tires should help even more. I didn't get hung up on as many little rocks and roots and I'd owe that to the portals. No matter what, I'm satisfied with the purchase.

It's alright. I kinda wish it wasn't a generic truck and based on a real vehicle model. I guess I can add some stickers to make it a Faux-Yota

I’ll look through my stickers in a min and see what Toyota ones I have left from all the tundra race bodies I’ve used. Also, may have some “larger than scale” Toyota lettering or symbols.

There's a couple whoopsies in the paint so I'm maybe just going to sticker bomb it like yours. I've probably got some sponsor stickers and stuff from some of the race car bodies I've built.
