Always good to have folks over to spend some time!

 

After the festivities today I managed to fab up a temporary piece for the Flippac.
After my first run with it to FPK in Va I trashed one of the front supports.
They really just keep it from bouncing up but still are important to the final setup in open position.

Obviously can’t reach out to the manufacturer- they haven’t existed for a few years now. Have to make shit up as I go.

The eyelet for the support is a plastic piece riveted into an aluminum pipe. Here’s the broken piece removed from the pipe:


This is what it should look like:


I made a temp replacement out of a small piece of oak with my dremmel:


Screwed in place with a #8 1/2” stainless steel Phillips:


Whole thing took about 10min.

 

Thx for the link. I know I can source metal replacements, it just hasn’t been at the top of my list.

This flintstone mod will get me through the trip.

 

You must have done this trail fix too then?

Being in a situation where I broke a front brake lever once and a clutch lever once, that is pretty fucking brilliant.

Used the previous dash piece with a different grippy thing. We’ll see how it works soon enough.

What was the old grippy thing?

 

I had a hard shell otter box cover mounted on a ball. The new mini didn’t fit it.

 

bought a new HD tote this evening for the parts & tools - my old one was just way too big & clumsy. Also went around with the grease gun & hit all the zerks.
