Hate them stinking things

 

Hey folks, got a quick maintenance question... I'm sitting right at 55K miles and my 5 year is up in July. I get a slight shimmy when I get up to 40 mph, or so, in the front end. I've had tires rotated, had a realignment, got new tires, etc and my regular mechanic says he can't find anything wrong structurally.

Would this be normal for a 2014 Gen 2? Or should I try and take it in before the Powertrain warranty expires? If so, any recommendations on where to take it?

I had just ONE toe with a pin through it! I put a little orange styro ball on it so no one would kick me with my boot on. You did look like you were in pain walking, but I don't like to mention those things because it sounds so stupid!

Are you lifted by chance? Does it go away in 4wd if so good chance it’s your needle bearing in the front diff.

 

Get a second opinion from another shop. Rebalance and realign, check lower control arm torque. Could be anything without checking in person. Could be one of the services done wasn't done properly

Check the tyres, mine had internal belt separation/slip. Would vibrate at 55 and yank the wheel out your hands at 60-65.... smoothed out at 70. Truck would drive like it was on ball bearings after every turn.

Replaced all 4 hoops, no more issues.

 

No lift. Goes away in 4WD (but not getting too fast in 4WD anyway).

I had the same issue was a needle bearing ecgs sells a replacement for it an eliminates the vibration. @Texoma can swap it out real quick an has the tool for it.

First PT session today, thx for asking. I had the therapist thinking I was the funniest mofo on earth. She started to demonstrate the pendulum exercise by saying, "Now, imagine this is your right arm, the shoulder you had operated on...", then extending her right arm down towards the ground! I said, "Goldarn, missy, you missed your calling! You should have been an actress, because that looks just like your right arm!".

I have another 4-6 weeks of PT, but she said it looks great.
