Ok everyone...I’m not sure where the confusion is but I will try to clear it up. Underneath the Window Switch Panel there is a Control Box that our OEM Mirror Adjust Switch Snaps into currently. That is how it is currently holding itself into place and not falling out. Without that Control Box, our OEM Mirror Adjuster Switch would just fall out into our Door Panels. If you were to literally trace around the edge of the Control Box on the backside of the Window Switch Panel and make a cut, you would have the Control Box cut out of the OEM Window Switch Panel. From the Top Side of your OEM Window Switch Panel, all you would have at this point would be a big rectangle with no Switch and no Control Box.

    2F5DDFE9-7341-419E-A1C9-33F8BC3672B9.jpg

This hole you would have here would only be just a little wider than the OEM Control Box as you simply traced around the Control Box to make the Cut Line. I hope you are all following me.

Now to the NEW ME-SO Customs Controller Bezel Switch Panel. If you look at the back side of the custom piece, you will see the same Control Box. That Control Box will just barely enter through the top side of your OEM Window Switch Panel and into the newly cut rectangle in your Panel.

    0983BF40-98E9-4F06-BB65-C62552486391.jpg

Now for the top of your OEM Window Switch Panel, the New Control Box will be held in place due to the top portion of the Controller Bezel Switch Panel. If you notice in the picture above, you will see an overhang. That will overhang the edges of your cut you made in your Panel and cover up your cut, as well as, sit flush on your OEM Window Switch Panel. This is the top view of the Controller Bezel Switch Panel.

    DD4360BB-CB6C-4359-A9CD-550DB190D494.jpg

It will look like the picture I have posted before of my Panel.

    A80B9FFD-9FC1-4EB6-9B8B-AE18C8B21297.jpg

    64A987A3-971E-48FD-B78C-5C7D99133A8F.jpg

On the backside of this New Panel, I would secure it in place with some Epoxy or even better yet a little plastic weld, but plastic welding would definitely be over the top and not needed.

After you have completed this step, fully installed your New Controller Bezel Switch Panel and your New OEM Replacement Adjust & Fold Mirror Switch, I am asking you to return your cut out perfectly in tact OEM Control Box.

I hope this clears up any confusion that may be out there. Again, this is only an OPTION. I know when the word FREE gets thrown out there people may get confused and whatnot. You do not have to do this if this is something you do not want to do. This is an option that is available for those that are concerned about making that cut and it looking professional and OEM. However, instead of those individuals paying for this option, I am offering a ONE TIME SPECIAL for them to get this amazing Custom piece again for FREE in order to jump start this New Controller Bezel Switch Panel and to Honor my group of First Batch TacomaWorld Members. It will not only help you, the current Batch TacomaWorld Members, and myself, but it will help future TacomaWorld Members to come by allowing me to keep the cost of production down! Being able to already have half of the New Controller Bezel Switch Done, would cut down cost drastically. It would make a $75-$100 or more item, maybe $20-$30 or less item. It is also a great way to persuade more people to opt for this option this round since it is FREE and you do not have to pay for it. But...if you are someone that just likes DIY projects and still would like to take a hack at your own OEM Panel and make the cut, by all means, make the cut. The Controller Bezel Switch Panels will be here for Purchase if you should make a mistake and need to cover it up. Just like they were going to be in the very beginning. Nothing there has changed at all. I will finalize all the details and post the price once it is complete.

Ok...I think that should clear up all the confusion out there. If you should have any other questions, please let me know. Thank You!

Ahh, now it totally makes sense! Thanks for the clarification. I guess piecing together the multiple posts and trying to figure it out was confusing. I kinda got it from your PM, but i didnt realize it was the control box (that we cannot see) is what you wanted returned after we cut it out.

@KTJO 4x4 what will you be doing with OEM control boxes that are returned to you?

From what I am getting from the clarification post, it will be used to make future new control box bezels.

I don’t get it. The new box is designed in partnership with MESO, right? How can the old box be made into the new box?

Taking a guess here, first batch would be full MESO.
Second batch and above would be Half MESO Half OEM...
    Maybe.

Having them modified for the next TacomaWorld Member. “Being able to already have half of the New Controller Bezel Switch Done (aka your OEM Controller Box), would cut down cost drastically. It would make a $75-$100 or more item, maybe $20-$30 or less item.”

So you plan to cut the tops off the control box and just have Meso print the top portion, then stick (plastic weld, etc) that onto the exsiting control box? so it will look the same as the meso one, except he didnt have to print the bottom portion, correct.

I think I am going to take the switch panel off this afternoon to see the underside of it. To me, the new switch looks like I would need to cut into the Grey portion of the handle (or red on Katies picture) in order for it to fit underneath, almost like the control box it not in the center of the black portion. I guess I will see...

Both Switches are the exact same! They fit the exact same way! If you were to cut the Control Box in anyway, the New Switch would not be able to Snap into Place!

    69590B3D-CD88-4D71-B31D-8D979D59917E.jpg

DO NOT CUT the sides of the Control Box in any way regardless if you send it to me or you use it yourself! You need it how it is so it will hold the New Mirror Switch just like it Holds the Old Mirror Switch. The ONLY thing you will be doing is cutting the rectangle for the Fold Switch portion of the New Adjust & Fold Mirror Switch.

Again, if you want to make the cut yourself. Go for it! I’m sure you’ll be fine and the cut will look just fine. This is just an option.

Hey Katie, i just took my switch panel out and looks like if we were to cut the square as to not cut the control box, the hole would be way too big for the meso panel. You would also need to cut slightly into the grey part of the switch which would be a no go for me, and probably everyone else. The only way to do this is to cut off the side things circled in red, but that would render the control box useless. Unless you had a idea of how we would cut it out without damaging the sides and keeping the hole small enough that the MESO panel will cover it up. Here is a pic from the bottom of mine. Looks like yours.E4252740-4E24-4FFA-90B8-6BADEB6FF56C.jpg A0BD0DA4-CBA0-4101-B506-B0992E068DAD.jpg

You can cut the Switch Panel all you want. I just wouldn’t want you to cut the Control Box. The Control Box is the Box that the Switch is actually sitting inside. Look at the shapes. That should make it even clearer than words can describe. Pictures show all. You can see the shape you would need to follow to make the cut perfect.

    UPDATE:

I bring a great deal of sad news to the TacomaWorld Community today!
    1. Sadly, I have been informed that the hinge has been extremely hard to source and although my guy will continue to try to locate it, there is absolutely no garauntee he will be able to anytime in the near future.
    2. Therefore, I checked into having the hinge I currently have for my Tacoma, that does work, moulded. But...we all know how expensive that can be. Although it can be done, I just don’t have $12k to drop in order to get that done. I’m sorry guys :(
    3. So, where does that leave the TacomaWorld Community with this Mod? OPTION 1 is out for the OEM Mirrors. They just are not compatible. I can offer OPTION 2! OPTION 3 is where it gets a little tricky. Due to the fact that the OEM Mirrors are so different, it does not benefit me to offer this Option for ALL of the Tacoma OEM Mirrors, other than the Non-Technology Package Members. I’ll explain why. The mirror that has the hinge that works is in a Non-Technology Package Mirror. I would be able to use the OEM Technology Package Mirror at that point and Convert it by using the OEM Mirror Glass, BSM Mirror Sensors with Wires, Adjuster Actuators, and Mirror Housings if needed.
    4. Individuals that have purchased OPTION 1 and OPTION 3 that are Non-Technology Package, please let me know what you would like to do through PM.
Good News, it’s still an option. It just might not be how you had hoped. I wish Toyota would have made Tacoma Hinges more like the 4Runners so far. The SAME!

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Well darn it, you have put in so much time and effort this project, leave it to Toyota to screw this up! So reading this, short version is that since I have the technology package I am SOL
