All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
If it works, don’t throw the template away. Mail it to me!!!

I hear ya brutha, but this is the one time I really feel gun shy about just diving in. The rest of you can stomach it, and I am still trying to digest it!

Still ended up a bit off. Initially I used to grease in the ends of the studs to mark the template, but they kept sliding when I got it in place on the template. I ended kinda guessing. I just grabbed a step bit to bore out the holes for a little bit more play.

I put the studs in the snorkel and then placed the template on the studs. The two holes furthest back were off. One by about 3/4" the other about 1/4". So I made new holes in the template and taped over the bad holes. I still used a step drill to enlarge the holes slightly so the snorkel would go on without scratching the touch up paint I applied to the new bare metal.

Also, I did not use the A-pillar bracket. I didn't want to drill my A-pillar. Instead I used black double sided gorilla tape (30 pound rating). I wiped both the pillar and the snorkel with rubbing alcohol before applying the tape. I had to double up the tape to get it securely adhered to the pillar. It ain't going anywhere.

Nice, I still gotta figure out the pillar bracket. It doesn’t wanna sit in any way I orient it. Thought about putting it in the vise and bending it, I may revisit it tomorrow, when I do my final checks before heading to Tennessee.

Yeah I used one strip of double side tape on the inner edge, good enough to keep it secure.

Did anyone else feel like the rubber coupling was kinda tight and barely went on?, feel like I fought mine even to just get it to line up onto the plastic snorkel. Hose clamps went on but I feel like I’m gonna check on it and 6 months and see it has fallen off.

Also I did the double sided tape approach on the bracket for the a pillar. So far it’s been holding strong up here in the Denver winters

Ya I had to fight mine a bit. You will know if the clamp slips off as the engine will throw an error. That happened to me and found that the top part of the clamp slipped off. I put it back on and no issues since.

Good to know!! I did notice how the truck is not happy running without any restriction on the intake. During my install I had to move my truck a little and with the air box of the idle was all over the place

For the 3rd gens, is this snorkel a 3" or 4" inlet? I have been looking at doing this but also want to add on the Syklone 9001 precleaner which is a 4"
