I got a BlendMount to hold my V1. Hangs from the rear view mirror and uses a power tap to avoid having cables draped over the dash.

Appreciate the update, I ordered on the 24th. As long as everything works out, I'm all good. Most parts sit around waiting to be installed any ways Haha

For all those of you who have pending orders, first of all, THANK YOU, second, I am working as fast as I can to have these shipped out, I did fall behind a little more than I (and you) would like but I’m working hard to get everything out....
Past orders are shipping in about 7 business days. BUT, I will more than likely have been caught up by Tuesday with ALL orders.
I appreciate your continuous support, I know the wait can be frustrating in the age of Amazon, I don’t like being behind either.
I know there’s a million messages in my inbox waiting to be answered, I’m starting to go through them, I appreciate your patience.

Just got around to installing the DMM today! Got it March 1st IRRC but was bedridden with of all things the friggin flu!

I must say this was a bit harder than I anticipated as my bit was either worn a bit or I was going very slowly...LOL.

What I found was that his tips in the video are SPOT ON! I had to trim the right "tab" with a utility knife but other than that it was flawless.

For folks "on the fence" this is a VERY HIGH quality product! I will be grabbing some larger heat shrink to cover up the silver metal at the bottom of the "balls" but that is just the OCD in me.

INSTALL TIP: As stated in the video if the "aligning screws" do not move easily to the backing plate. Take your time and redrill the hole to be slightly larger. Once I did that the process was VERY smooth!

This is a MUST HAVE MOD!

Did you end up going this route to power your setup? I'm looking at this now and I see two routes:

    • If there's a 12V line behind the HU to tap, I tap it. There's gotta be one back there, though, right? Probably the one powering the HU itself.
    • If not, I have to add-a-fuse.
Regardless, the supply wires route into the buck converter to step down 12V 20A to 5V 20A which outputs to a terminal block. The terminal block could either support some hardwired USB cables, such as a USB-C and -A, or maybe it could support a bunch of hardwired USB-A female cables, that way I can just plug in any USB cable to one of those females. Makes it device-agnostic and future proofs it for devices I add later or new cable standards.

I have the parts sitting o my workbenches in my office. Just have not had the spare time to wire it up and test. But it is still my plan. Biggest issue I see at the moment is figuring out the resistor values to support fast charging for my devices.

I did find something that may help, going to see if I can get some samples of the part for testing

    Hey there,

Anybody know the thread size for mounting points on the Perfect Squeeze? Where one mounts a RAM diamond plate?

Counting down 3 days till the DMM arrives, now just need to source longer bolts than come with the Perfect Squeeze.

Thread pitch and length of bolt to mount this diamond plate - https://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-238U - the the Perfect Squeeze would be appreciated!!

I forgot about the resistors. I just bought a cord with 56K pulldowns. As I am just venturing into electronics, can you recommend a reading source(s) for USB and fast charging standards? Until you mentioned them, I figured fast charging could be attained just through hardwire and providing enough amps to the cable.

Mine took about the same amount of time.

I can tell it's going to be a very nice setup just by how well made all the parts are. I'm excited to install it.

Didn't even see the tracking info in my spam. Checked it today after getting my kit in the mail.

Given the complexity involved in creating a Quick Charge solution, why not just hardwire a cig port behind the dash and use a supported USB cig adapter? Something like this looks ideal: https://smile.amazon.com/ONLINE-LED...te+socket+12v&qid=1552791579&s=gateway&sr=8-9. 15A means lots of juice and 3 ports means expandability, a useful feature given some adapters may have multiple USB ports but only one will support a QC standard. Combine that with an adapter like this one https://smile.amazon.com/Charger-RA...-Compatible/dp/B07HBVGT9F/ref=dp_ob_title_wld. Amazon lists several others that support QC3.0 or Power IQ.
