They make a great winch. I've got the 12000 and that thing pulled me uphill for 300 yards when I busted my driver rear lower link on Claw Hammer last summer. It kept pulling long after it should have failed. We where done with all the hard stuff when this happened.

Then a whole lot of this happened

    Then this happened:

I was able to drive it to the road from the top of Claw Hammer and got a tow the next day. lol

    Thanks

Glad you made it out ok. It's good to hear that these aren't just some cheapo winches. It's always good to hear personal experiences behind products instead of relying on possibly made up reviews on manufacturers websites.

Yep. Third Gen so basically the same as 1st gen Taco's. I also have a 96 Taco that's just a DD.

The 4runner's dual cased dual locked on 35's.

    Thanks man.

It's pretty much finished at this point. I started the build with it stock about 2 years ago now. The whole point of the build was a reliable highway rig that could drive to the hardest trails, do them, then drive home. It's done that every time with the exception of Claw Hammer. In a few years I plan on building a true crawler but for now it's just fun to wheel the Runner.
