What’s interesting is all of my friends that used buyer’s agents paid $500-750 for their services. I found that kinda ridiculous. When friends asked me I said there was no way I was paying someone for that.

I had an agent I worked with, but it was never a formal agreement. Admittedly I knew exactly what type of house I wanted and since I was looking in my hometown and next door it was easy to know the lay of the land. When my Mom bought her house after my Dad died I was always stuck tagging along and since it took her over a year to find a house I got good at knowing what to look at.

Think that’s the same on the 3rd gens tacos. In my mind the bigger the mark, the longer between wipes. But it is not like that on on my truck.

I’m subscribed to Rock Auto deals so I got the wipers dirt cheap, that’s really the only reason I changed that many times in a year.

Rather be on the fence than in the water.

I'm surprised too since I didn't expect OEM wipers to be anything special, but they just work on mine. No chattering or streaking. I'm around 23,000 miles at this point and they still work great.

Probably the only good thing about the ladder falling on the truck was that I got a really good excuse for a new wondshield

I've read the same thing about Tundras. People recommend OEM wipers since everything else streaks/chatters

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Everything except the OEMs chatter on my Tacoma (I've tried a bunch). They are cheap enough too. I just got a set for $20 @ Boch South. Why bother with anything else

Makes sense. I need a new set for the Tundra, the ones on it chatter pretty badly. I always forget until I need to use them

Morning all! Happy Tuesday! The GF flies to the UK tonight for 10 days, so I'm cooking all of the stuff she hates for the next week

    Missed this yesterday, lol.
Obviously this is very subjective, but I bought one of those big kits from Sears a number of years ago (the 19.3 Lithium kit, when it first came out) that came with a drill, sawzall, jigsaw, sander, trim saw, light, and vacuum. I think I used the trim saw all of 7 or 8 times in total, same with the little vacuum. The ones that I used the most were the drill and light. The Sawzall was probably second, but I only used it for trimming brush around the house because it was faster than a hand saw and didn't need a cord, but for cutting anything of size it was just as fast to plug in my corded sawzall as it was to swap the battery pack into the cordless one. The jigsaw was the same way; handy for mobility but not really any faster to use.

Your mileage may vary, but when I bought a new Makita kit rather than replacing the worn-out Sears batteries (in hindsight, that was an excellent decision since there's no longer a Sears store anywhere in the state of Maine) I opted just to get a basic kit with fewer tools but high AH batteries. I got a drill, impact driver, sawzall, and two 3.0AH batteries.

Your mileage may vary; you should buy what you want/need, but my experience was that the extra tools weren't worth the extra cost, but more battery was more good. :notsure:

Well I was able to time out my last 'free' service pretty well. Since they are pretty strict about 2 yrs 25k miles, as long as I don't have anything come up unexpected, my 25k mile service will be Saturday morning and I will have ~24,950 miles on the truck.

That's actually part of the reason I liked this set. It has 4 5.0AH batteries. Lots of the others have one or two. I think I'd use the impacts and drill the most and the cutting/grinding tools occasionally. I actually thought the flashlight was the useless piece--good to know you got use out of yours!

Though, I looked again and I might like this better: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-...cular-Saw-Grinder-Flashlight-XT612M/305926961

Has almost all the same stuff for less than half the price. I could buy two more batteries and the 1/2" impact to make it an equal set and still come out ahead.

EDIT--just bought that Makita set. I really like the Makita drill I have now and that way I still have another useful charger and drill from my last set.

There is 30" on Saunders Bay right now. But I hear you about the access... there are a ton of morons in every kind of vehicle imaginable driving from the salty roads onto the lake melting the launch away. My buddy took his hardside off this weekend because of that. I saw a converted school bus on Winni the other day.

Rock Auto often has close out wipers for $2-5/ea and they're Bosch, Rain-X and other premium brands. I usually buy sets for both vehicles when they go on sale like that because you have to pay for shipping. I can usually get 2 sets of blades for under $20 total shipped to my front door.
