    To anyone that has a softtopper, did anyone order the optional camper top tent they have? For 189, it seems like a good deal. And from the pics, it would be nice having the tail gate down when I camp in it so I have more room to lay my legs out in my 5 foot bed haha.

    But does anyone have any reviews or actual pics on it? I can’t find anyone that actually ordered the optional tent and would love some info on it. Thanks.

    That’s awesome. It looks like a really good tent. Is it easy to set up and attach the tent to the top? Does it seem durable? Thanks

    Let me know how you like it. I like the fact that I could keep the tailgate down and spread my legs out without feeling cramped in but I didn’t know if it was easy to set up and put away

    FWIW, I made a short section of waxed canvas to cover the open tailgate section. It's about 24" long to drape over the tailgate while open and has Velcro ("hook") as the top edge to attach to the lower edge of the rear panel on the ST. I think I have less than $40 into it, but I do have a sewing machine and know how to use it. Waxed it with bees wax to make it water proof. Best part is it rolls up and stows easily.

    I was interested in the tent but I always wonder what kind of damage those straps will do to the pain if you are camping somewhere with high wind.

    It is super easy to setup using the supplied bungees and poles. The upper corners that hold the tent up are reinforced and appear very durable.

    I'm 6'8" and fit comfortably with this tent installed.

    I bought mine from the Softtopper website, and yes, it works with hard shells with rear windows that open horizontally (the rear window holds up the tent without the need for the poles).

    That's actually what is is made for. I think Softtopper buys them, reinforces the corners and adds the rods to hold it up since their topper doesn't have a rigid rear window.

    It looks very similar to the one that used to be available for either jeeps, Honda element or something else like that . Maybe (gasp!) the Aztec?

    I swear I have seen them other than from Softopper.
