I scored a few bottles of the 120 a couple years ago. As with most of my booze I wasn't patient enough to let it sit. It is a mighty fine brew though!

That 120 though. During my IPA days I was all about those.

Delayed gratification has never been my strong suit, I applaud your efforts though. I have heard that those big beers characteristics change over time as they rest. One day I will take the time to investigate.

Bravo on the 120. I only got a pack of those one time, ever since my timing has been off when they get released.

More closely related to this thread was the Black Tuesday I popped last weekend. It's a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout clocking in at 19+% abv. Only sold 1 day per year, only 750ml bottles, limit 3 per customer, $33 a pop. Better share it or else you'll be on your ass before it's done. :drunk:

Also picked up this Blade and Bow never seen or heard of it either but it said it’s from Stitzel-Weller (original Pappy distillery) so thought I’d give it a shot. Seems a bit gimmicky with the key and all, I’ll let ya know how it goes.D0D326EF-AC2B-4675-BDEB-B7A439D249D3.jpg

If you weren't 800 miles away I'd say stop by for a pour. It's surprisingly good.
I joined because my 04 is a great truck. But it's getting tired. I do plan on hitting 200k with it. This 19 has too many features,it may take me years to figure them out. Most confusing is crawl and MTS or whatever that other button is. I'm thinking they are the same except crawl works the throttle. Idk.

Yeah new cars/trucks are like giant computers. Pretty cool, kinda strange, a little confusing. Hopefully I didn't come off as a jerk earlier, I honestly thought your first post was awesome! Enjoy your new truck and delicious whiskey! Welcome to TacomaWorld cheers!

Well you're clearly from the internet.

Don't take it personal. It's scientifically proven that drinking it ice cold masks a lot of the flavors, is all. Drink it how you like it, but Lagavulin 16 is a great whisky; don't want you to miss out. :notsure:

Had an all-around successful Kentucky Trip. My Daughter’s volleyball team played well in their tournament.

We went to Buffalo Trace and did their tour as a family on Friday morning. Tour was nice. They didn’t have any Eagle Rare or Blanton’s available, but they did have Colonel E. H. Taylor and Buffalo Trace available, along with their Weatley Vodka, White Dog Mash #1, and their bourbon cream. The tasting in order was Weatley Vodka, White Dog Mash #1, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, then Bourbon Cream. All were very tasty. I am not a vodka person, but Weatly Vodka was amazing, not harsh like normal vodka, almost sweat with a hint of vanilla. My wife and I ended up purchasing 2 bottles of Colonel E. H. Taylor, a bottle each of Buffalo Trace, Weatley Vodka, White Dog Mash #1, and Bourbon Cream. Also got my daughter a 6 pack of good Root Beer.

During the tour, we went into their bottling room where they were bottling up some Blanton’s. Found out some information. 6 bottles per case, every other bottle will be put in a nice bag and then in a box, the other 3 will be put in that plastic mesh, then staggered in the case. The reason for this is to save money. In the bottling room they had a nice locked glass cabinet filled with some of their best bourbon. See picture. I was very jealous.

I ended up spending some time with the tour guide after the tour discussing bourbons and such. He suggested I check out a liquor store called Evergreen Liquors in Louisville. We went there after the tour, they actually had 1 bottle of Blanton’s left. They had it hidden in the back, just had to ask for it. I also picked up a bottle of Willett which I have never seen in Ohio before along with a store barrel pick of Knob Creek 120. I stopped at a few other liquor stores as was unable to find any Eagle Rare or any more Blanton’s.

My Daughter with cases of Blanton's being Bottled and boxed up.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the info. Buffalo Trace will be about an hour from where we will be setting up shop, but I hope to convince the crew to make the trip. I think it'd be a lot of fun.

Also really wanting to get to the Heaven Hill distillery to get some gift shop only Elijah Craig "grenades".
