Posted in audio/video with no action.

Would really like to put an 8 in head unit with Android autoand built in GPS. Found the Alpine X208U.

Don't like the Halo 9 as it doesn't have built in GPS for forest roads/backup.

Checked measurements and it will fit but there is a gap on the sides... How would someone fill these gaps while keeping it looking as factory as possible? Trim kit and some super steady Dremel work?

    Opening right about 5 1/8 tall x 9 wide

    X208U: 5 tall x 7 7/8 wide

Standard double din is smaller than our opening width and all trim kits are for sub 7in screen. I'm looking for a way to do it myself...

Have you tried calling crutchfield? They were very helpful when I was getting a unit for my Dakota that had an odd ball 1.5 din.

    Per the Alpine website:

You Won’t Believe It’s Not Factory
Compliment your X208U with a matching Perfect F.I.T. (Factory Integration Technology) dash kit for a factory finished look. Each vehicle-specific Perfect F.I.T. kit matches the shape, color and texture of your vehicle's dash, for a factory-finish look. Each kit comes with all the necessary accessories for the X208U, including vehicle-specific harness, antenna adapter and steering-wheel interface for vehicles with steering wheel control.
Kits are currently available for several truck and SUV platforms. If there is not a compatible Perfect F.I.T. dash kit for your vehicle or if you want a custom installation, use the KTX-UTB8 Universal Trim Bezel instead.
