    Hi guys,

New here, sorry to bump this thread.

I'm looking to buy a set of 16" steelies that would fit the 231mm Tundra calipers but I was wondering if I could specify a car's model to shops to be sure they get me the right wheels that will fit. Like should I ask steelies for a 1st gen Tundra V8 trd, I'll be sure to receive something that will fit (?), etc.

I saw this other thread with the round holes as guide to the right steelies but I wasn't sure if I could also provide the label stamped on the wheels to get the right ones https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...8T4zSPTtTNBuAS0zbOZ7vhzFrGp5zb9lDMU3bG_LAvwjc

    Thanks, I appreciate your help!

    THose wheels look great!
Are the centers black, or is that a dark charcoal? I saw a set for sale on Craigslist, but the centers actually looked much lighter grey than yours. I just wasn't sure if it was an issue with the picture lighting, or if they did come in different colors

They're charcoal, so it's definitely the lighting.

they should, 2nd Gens all received larger calipers and rotors (13WG/13WH, or even 13WL if memory serves, and from searching) and the fact they still use them on base models in Gen 3 should be sufficient.

    Hi,

I checked through the list of wheels that'd fit the 13WL and I didn't see these. I picked these up right after I bought my 95 4x4 and I'm pretty sure these were standard on the TRD Tacomas in the late 90's early 2000's. They're 17's. Anyone running he 13WL's with them ? TIA

    Thanks!

Those will be fine since they are 17s. 16s are the place where you can run into trouble, which is why the list focuses on them (assuming you mean this list: https://adventuretaco.com/which-wheels-fit-the-tundra-brake-upgrade-on-a-tacoma/).

Perhaps I should add them just for completeness, since they are a relatively common Toyota wheel.

The one thing you may run into with those wheels is that they have more backspacing that stock 1st gen Tacoma wheels, so you may find that you need to run a spacer in order to push your tire off of the upper control arm (depending on the tire size/width). Note: Tundra brakes won't affect that at all, it's just worth noting.

Those would be 2nd Gen TRD OR wheels I believe. Would’ve been 2005 onwards.
