Not interested in engraving, just some laser checkering on the wood stock, no FFL. needed on either end, however I have a copy of my cousins (pawn shop owners) that I can use at will. I just do the paperwork at their location and pick up there.

My year old electric Charbroil vertical smoker crapped out on me. It was never the best smoker but it did it's job OK while it lasted. I think it was my fault for not keeping it covered with all the rain we have had.

I see Costco has a pretty good deal on the Louisiana grill vertical pellet smoker series 7 in a couple days. It seems to be exactly the same as the Pit Boss series 7 except for the label and color.

Pit Boss has three sized 3 5 7 - 5 being the most popular.

From what I have seen in the last few days the Pit Boss is the medium end models and the Louisiana is the top tier. Pit Boss might be made in China and Louisiana in the US but not sure on that.

Pit Boss Series 7 $850 Amazon no cover.

Louisiana Series 7 Costco $450 with cover.

The reviews on the Pit Boss seem to be pretty good overall but the Louisiana is so new there isn't much out there.

I guess I might be the first for a review.

Seems like a good amount of savings there.

What’s the size on the stock itself. The machine is pretty decent sized for the bed itself.

After some real quick legwork... very similar on stats across the board.

Best I found was Pitboss for 650 (free shipping but up to 16 week lead time... maybe price match?) https://www.bbqguys.com/pit-boss/co...FTYzZ3rTSA1b1Olc-l35AMxbd_jw9D_IaAgBXEALw_wcB

and you said $450 for the Louisiana

I think I'd roll the dice on the Louisiana. But maybe google controller types and see if that may be worth the difference.

That's a big hunk 'o brisket! Looking forward to pics of the cook. Having folks over or just feeding yourself for the rest of the week?
