So I had my truck in at the dealership a week and a half ago for the 20000 mile service. I went out today to check the oil just because I like to be thorough and check my own oil. When I looked in I immediately saw fuzz, grass and obvious signs of a mouse nest near the intake for the engine. When I remove the engine cover I saw tons of debris and obvious Mouse nests. It's my fault for not checking before and after the service but a 20000 mile service just recently they really should have noticed this please check yours before your mice start eating wires

That's one reason why I pulled my engine cover off on day one and packed it away. No difference in performance or anything else.

I agree, but so far they were just under the hood, and I will absolutley be checking everyday now. Also, I use the sonic repellents in my attic, main house area, basement and garage, worked wonders since we moved into a long unoccupied house. Our house had mice, squirrels and flying squirrels when we moved in. Looks like I will be putting one in the carport.

I have a ton of Oak, and Walnut trees in my neighborhood so I have lots of squirrels. I had them in the attic when I moved here. Electricians had to go up there twice for chewed wires. Pulled the gutters and plugged the holes in the fascia and put a strobe light up there. The strobe works very well! Now I have a gamo and pellet trap in the back yard but I cant use it until the hedges thicken back up. Some black oil sunflower seeds in front of the pellet trap and you are in for a productive morning of sniping. I removed about 130 from the population my first winter here and still have plenty of squirrels. Also, I am not a cat fan, but there is a mean neighborhood tomcat that I keep a bit of food for on the front porch. It only hissed a little when I tried to pet it yesterday so we're almost buds. I only feed it enough to make it stop by regularly, don't want it getting fat and lazy on me.

Here in Socal, it is rare unless it's been in storage or stored.
I've seen opossum, cats and raccoon looking for a place to sleep for the night if it's cold or raining.
But mice or rats are unlikely here. At least trying to nest.

    Nice find though!

Not just that, but owls and hawks will eat poisoned mice, then die.

Now the owls and hawks are gone, there will be more mice.

What does the strobe light do? Entertain you when looking for them? Is it on a sensor or something and when comes on scares them?
