    Can the stud be cut off, drilled for longer bolt and then a spacer be used?

    I don't think that would work due to the angles. Making spacers to raise it would also move it in.

    My current plan is to cut the uprights off the base piece, and make longer ones. Need to get the angle right so it's an inch higher than the current hole, without moving it in or out. Was also debating ordering new OEM mounts. Could also do what you did with my original ones, but the new perches don't have a hole to receive the head of the bolt.

    Not looking forward to pulling those mounts.

    Just gave it the day off (it's raining). We have always had an "understanding" with the gifting thing. I take it out on trails and it brings me back.

    Upgraded a very dated Skyjacker 2.5" (SKTOY30KS) to adjustable Bilstein 5100 / OME 2881 spring setup (adjusted to middle setting) and rear shocks. Far superior ride from stock and the Skyjacker lift. Did the ball joints too as I had everything apart. Only a couple hundred or so miles under the new setup but I highly recommend this setup...

    Big shout out to @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc who helped me with all the correct parts I needed to complete the job. Their invoice also has helpful notes on spots I got stuck (e.g. direction of rear shock canister/front spacer mounting, lift achieved at the 3 adjustable settings, etc) Not to mention they gave a member discount!IMG_8897.jpg IMG_0202.jpg IMG_6776.jpg IMG_6014.jpg

    Its a love hate relationship for us east-coasters. Love the customer service and the parts offered, hate the shipping. Totally understand why its as high as it is, but it leaves me looking at other dealers like Low-Range and headstrong that offer free shipping.

    Huh??? o_O

    Low Range rapes me on shipping. Not a love hate for me with Low Range... I fucking hate them.

    Last thing I bought from them was a vehicle speed sensor. That thing is the size of dipping sauce from McDonalds and weighs about the same. ($30 part) They charged me $15 in shipping... And it turns out it's a Trail Gear part... They had Trail Gear drop ship it from Fresno. An hour and a half from my house.

    Stock upper mounts, lowers are about as low as I could get without them being below the axle.

    Both 4 wheel parts and Summit Racing are local so I never pay shipping. I've been able to get everything I need from them and if I can't I can always get it on Amazon and still free shipping.

    Jack up the truck so the axle is full droop and remove your current shocks. Measure the distance from mount to mount. Find a shock that is 1/2" to an inch longer. Install the new shocks and let the truck sit at ride height and measure the the exposed shaft. Set your bump distance so it's less than that measurement. Remember that your bump with compress some.

    I don't understand why some companies charge so much for shipping items that can easily fit in a USPS flat rate box or envelope...Wheeler's will send stuff in a flat rate ($7 or something like that) box if it fits in one, even if it's something 'heavy' like u-bolts and similar hardware.

    Anyone have a 3rd gen 4 runner and want good deal on some Oem balljoints? No bolts and you need 1 castle nut and 2 cotter pins.

    @m3bassman cause you’re the only one I know with a 4R.

    Changed my oil today, Walmart Super Tech 5W-30 synthetic, and gave the drive train a good lube job. Had one bolt on the skid plate rounded off, and thank God my neighbor showed up with a set of Erwin "Grip" sockets and saved the day. Replaced all the bolts and washers with new hardware from Lowes. Changing the oil used to be such a simple task, but I'll be so dam sore tomorrow, I might not get out of bed. But I won't have to change my oil again for 10k miles, which should get me about an 8 month break. I also installed my new TW group buy Weather Tech Floor mats, thew my old ones in the trash. Thanks TW for saving me some bread on the group buy.:thumbsup:
