The y-pipe was definitely staying. On the next round, the y-pipe will get modified with two 59905 2.25" offset cats before the merge. The single 2.5" cat that is there now will be removed. That should hopefully take away a little bit more volume.

    59905.jpg

URD Mark3 or whatever he calls it. Flows good but too noisy for me.

The part in front of the muffler has been hacked into to add a 3” cat and resonator. The muffler is good. The rear part is cut off to dump after the axle. The rear piece with the tip that was cut off is still present, but would have to be welded back on to be used.

I’d like to sell it, but shipping would be pretty expensive. I’d rather sell it locally if I can.

Yessir, that data was for you. I would have done a data log with the stock y-pipe, but the UCON was not a happy camper and was misbehaving during that period. What are you doing on Monday? Maybe you’ll have time for a demo ride plus bs...

The truck is now running really good and *knock on wood* the UCON has been behaving itself. My road trip next week will be so relaxing compared to previous ones.

In other news, the LRA tank range is awesome. There was a moment of panic at first. The gauge made it to 1/2 full after only 150 miles. But it has stayed at 1/2 for 80 miles. I guess the bottom half of the level sensor swing is where most of the additional capacity is located.

Makes sense, all those extra little compartments at the top of the tank empty first.

Dang, I just stumbled across this. So cool! I wish I had known about it before. I would've integrated it into my setup. Would help ensure filling of the surge tank at lower fuel levels! I guess the LRA tank will have to come out once again! I think this will be one of my next mods, unless @05Taco4x4 has already started whipping up 1GR fuel rails? ;)

    http://www.radiumauto.com/Venturi-Jet-Pump-Kit-P760.aspx
    venturi2.jpg

It mounts in the return line and the venturi effect creates a vacuum which pulls fuel from outside the surge tank to inside the surge tank. Our VWs and most cars that have a saddle tank use a similar device to pull fuel from the one side of the tank to the other. This is what one of the VW ones look like:

Based on costs for the 2TR rail, I can guarantee it would be north of $500, especially with connecting line.
Do you think the demand will really be there?

I’m sure there are a few guys in the supercharger and turbo threads that would be interested.

What are the benefits of replacing the rail? Is it mainly aesthetics, or are the hidden performance benefits? Any thermal transfer trade offs with aluminum versus plastic/rubber?

I'm going to have to be sold on this one....but I'd like to see you make these, just to help support the 1GR platform of performance enhancements.
