This is my first post on the Forum, and I have been wondering about any sort of ideas regarding mounting options for the Ram Mount. I was wondering if the Claw can be used to attach to the lip above the dash, behind the steering wheel? Any other ideas are also welcome.

I tried my GoPro Jaw Flex Clamp, but it slides off with the small vibrations in the road.

Welcome! I'd browse around 3M's site and check out their adhesives. They're pretty solid

They redesigned it, but you could put two on one vent now. I might have one of the old style available.

I've seen the Hondo Garage part before, I was looking for something where you wouldn't lose any functionality of other parts in the truck. I've thought about the 3M adhesives but do not want to deal with any residue should I want to remove it.

Without drilling you have about three options; hondo, suction to window, or 3M tape.

There is also that dash multi mount thing, you do have to drill, but it's hidden away. Search this forum for DMM and you should find what you need.

I've seen that before, to a similar tune, I really like the positioning behind the center console.

Do you think if I 3M a slide for the Ram Mount to the same area I can get away with the stability? I haven't really used 3M tape before and the research I have done shows me it would be strong enough, but I see other reviews, even on this forum that say 3M isn't sufficient. Additionally still looking for any info regarding the residue after you remove the 3M tape, is it worth the trouble, is it easy to clean up?

that 3m tape is designed to hold body panels on cars, its strong, but it also takes prep and it needs to "dry" before use.

    You need https://www.findtape.com/3M-4298-Ad...wJAd4MEKvQY9bxkYDKLIr8TpKybf6udxoCOC8QAvD_BwE

It will make sure the tape never comes off without alot of work.
After installing it, you'll want to let it sit for about 72 hours, this will make sure it sets up proper.

The idea behind the no drill part is so that it is not permanent. I plan on upgrading to a newer model truck and don't want the value to drop due to modifications that are non-reversible.

Is there a happy medium? I have always thought 3M would be the way to go, and they offer plenty of options, I just don't know where that "happy" line is.

The happy middle is to go with either the hondo mount, or the DSM (small version of the DMM) mount. Hondo is reversible, the DSM is hidden away.
