What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

This is a no brainer and I love this product.

1. It Works as Advertised - if you look at the shift chart on their site and drive your truck, that is what it does. You will like your truck!
2. Truly Plug and Play, and you have options to make a perfectly clean install without much imagination.
3. Does not do anything to the "native" truck or ECU or warranty, just unplug and my truck is the same as before.
4. It's cheap, come on people, the shifting in our trucks SUCKS, this gets you in much better standing...if you complain about everything I'd bet you can find some nuance you don't love...but do you love the way your truck drives today? If you could spend less than $200 to make it much better, wouldn't you?
5. You decide when to use, even when driving...if you are in an area where you don't need it you flip the shifter back to D, if you want to re-engage...back to S. If you want to use S+/S- just do it, all while driving.
6. Great customer service, if you have a question, these guys answer it. I have not heard of too many issues, mine is great, but I'd bet they stand behind it.

So, with one of the more compelling threads today being about putting holes in your truck, it is with some trepidation that I did just that.

And this was not a really big hole, nothing on the order of magnitude of putting a snorkel on....THAT is a bit like getting a body piercing in an unmentionable part of your body. A big one. Or several.

My effort was kinda like getting an ear pierced. And like the ear, there was a pre-destined place in the firewall just calling out for a hole.....But the dreading was akin to getting that ear pierced for the first time, as a wimpy pre-teen whose friends had all told you that it was gonna be really awful. Like so many other 'firsts' from my teenage years.

It's just that it is a new truck, and like the first ding, that first drill bit bite brings forth a wince or two....

It was not that bad, after all....and soon, all of those errant wires hanging out of my dash will have a home...or, actually, a route to home....

I believe the bar is n-fab but I just looked up light bar rack! I was looking for something to keep the stock bumper because I like the stock look but I need aux lighting for safer travel where I live in heavily game populated areas.

 

Why didn’t you wire through the large rubber grommet/plunger to the upper left of where you drilled...if I’m looking at what I believe to be the correct location I have at least 5 runs through that big boy.

I used to have those. I traded my pred bars for them. They were solid, I just needed something more structural for the trails. Great for the money though for sure.

I didn’t like the stars either, so I cut skateboard grip tape and covered them. Added traction to the steps and got rid of stars. Held up no issues and looked like they came that way.

I just wanted to keep all of my mod wiring as separate as possible, and not mess the factory stuff....and I didn't want to run out of room; if I add everything that I ultimately want to, I'll need way more real estate.

 

That will be your real estate right there...I have mine stuffed silly...with that said thx for the idea of an alternate place to go through if needed!
