I'm not sure I want to see fast then. That'll probably sandblast the LineX off my sliders!

 

I'd love to know what to paint sliders with. Making my wish list now and expect it will be cost effective to paint myself or have them Rhino Lined. I figure after I get the final price tag on my wish list I can decide whether or not it's cost effective or if I should just buy something already partially built to finish (and save wear and tear on my daily).

 

I've Line-X'ed all my armor except skids. There's a ton of people on both sides of the fence about Line-X'ing sliders, but I went for it. Works like griptape, but less likely to take skin off. Also this stuff is pretty damn sturdy.

I haven't scraped any off yet, but if I do it is under lifetime warranty and they would re-apply it for free.

 

I've been using rustoleum bedliner. Holds really well to every day use, has a bit of grit so it's not slick, and really easy to touch up when you do use the sliders.

 

I regretfully missed this one. Hoping to get on a trail soon though.

 

Rustoleum flat black. Cheap and easy to touch up. Can't screw it up when you spray it on, either.

 

I use Rustoleum hammered black. Hides chips well after respray.

Upol Raptor liner works really well. Easy to do at home with only an air compressor needed as far as tools. My sliders and bumper are done with it and they have held up great.

Installing my sliders this weekend. Are y'all doing anything to the frame (paint/fluid film ) before you install the bolt on sliders?

 

I'd say that's not a bad idea, if you have surface rust maybe sand it off and make sure you have a couple good coats of paint on the frame before install...can't hurt.

 

Truck is a 2018 so no rust or anything just looking out for the future knowing Toyotas rust problems.

 

I didnt do anything. My theory being i didnt want a film that could hold on to any grit that might get in between there. Even the teflon spray i used to put on my shocks tended to catch dust although it did usually spray off easily.

 

I plan to go back weekend after next with kids if weather is good since I didn't bring them this trip. Not planning to wheel really but wouldnt object to company at camp if anyone else wants to go.

I do love how much quieter it is camping at LBL vs at AOP where there's constant semi trucks going by. At LBL all I can hear is snoring and owls fornicating
