In post #1249 you mention you got a 2.25” over stock lift. Are you saying you got a 3.25” lift in total since the 3rd gens already come with 1” of lift? What’s the measurement from hub to bottom of fender? What size tires do you have on your Taco? I appreciate the info.

I’m at 23.25” hub to fender in the front. Stock is 21”. That’s 2.25” over stock for a 2016+.

    I’m running 33’s (255/85R16) Cooper ST Maxx.

Wow I'm a 3rd gen prerunner 4 cylinder and my stock Fox (13" 600lb) coils with 1" and a hair extra preload are sitting 24.75" and 24.10" upfront right after install. So I am getting 3" or more lift off what's supposed to be more like 2"...

Makes sense though, considering when I got stock TRD Offroad coils I sprang up an inch. So I just gotta take a lot of the preload out (will still have about an inch of total preload as the shock body would measure 12" tall with the collar spun up to the top) and let her settle and it will be exactly where I was before, which is exactly where I wanted it.

    Just lightweight truck things. ;)

I guess I’ll find out when I put them on my truck. Hoping to be at 23.75” hub to fender (2.75” over stock). My rear is sitting at 24.25” right now. If not I’ll have to adjust the preload while the coilovers are on my truck. Not sure how easy that will be since I have 650 springs. We shall see..

I’m lifting my truck this weekend and was wondering if I should get a couple 5/16” or 8mm punches. Did anyone damage the holes on the ring with the punch? Which punch did you use and how effective was it? I’ve read the spanner wrench is worthless.

    Thanks y’all

So you have to understand that you’re not gonna be hammering on that punch, push it into the holes in the collar and use it to spin the collar... but yeah if you have external resis the wrench is dumb.

Right on. I think I’m going to pick up two 5/16” punches and grind them down so they fit snug in the holes.

Wrench works great - just shorten the stud by 1/8”.

Could you elaborate? Sorry, I’m a few beers deep and don’t understand what you’re saying. Thank you

Shortening the post allows the wrench to be more usable by allowing the user to engage the holes on the back side of the collar. At the standards length, you can only engage the holes that are visible.

    Sorry for the kindergarten drawing.

Duhhh forgot about the spring settling, but still kinda strange...

With about 1.25" of collar showing on either side I was at 24.75" and 24.10" ... spin down all that preload, leave about 1/4 more thread on the driver's side and now I am at 21.5 and 21.5 after settling. Taking 1 inch of preload out took off way more than a 2x ratio.

Not complaining because I'm still higher than stock and I can always spin up more if needed. I'll see how much I like a "low" Tacoma. :D

Oh, anyone else with DSC clickers have essentially no feeling in the low speed clicker on one side or another? My driver's side clicker you can barely feel the clicks at all, but the passenger's side you can definitely feel them.:notsure:

Can be touchy. Give them a good clean and then grab a bottle of triflo Teflon lube. Use a Capri sun straw to administer it directly onto the knob sparingly. Exercise it . You'll feel it click.

Shouldn't be dirty as they have literally been on the truck for 4 miles... but I will try the lube and see if that makes the clicks a bit easier to feel.

If they're brand new just exercise them .They can be tough. Just do both at once first, then the top last so it's easier to isolate. I also try to make a visual reference so I know where the click should be.

Um, you might want to reconsider removing your UCA's. They are generally needed for... you know... driving and whatnot. YMMV. :D

Can someone provide me with the tread count to lift height ratio for 2.5 factory remote reservoir standard travel 0-2". I was told by my fox rep that its 1" of exposed thread to 2" of lift, but I've seen others talk of thread count. I havent been able to find any fox documentation pointing to thread count to lift ratio.

    Thank you!!
