Welp, sold my old 4Runner, so now the Taco is doing daily driving and non-wheeling road trips again. That being the case, the 81-pound 315/70/17 Falken MTs weren't going to cut it for now, so I downsized a little to some 285/75/17 (34x11.5x17) Falken AT3Ws. So far, I'm very impressed, but I haven't taken them off road yet.

Did another thing this weekend. With the help of some friends, El Taco Fresco received a new Total Chaos spring-under conversion thanks to @glorifiedwelder , a pair of Fiberwerx front 4" fiberglass fenders, a pair of 4" ADV fiberglass bedsides, and finally some cam tab gussets. These fenders need some paint ASAP tho

So far so good! The rear sits pretty low tho, but that's just SUA life I guess. Still need to figure out my rear bumpstop situation too

Never posted anything about my hoo-ride ghetto snorkel job that I copied from this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/different-approach-to-a-snorkel.266449/

    Here it is:

Apologies in advance for the blurry phone pic lol. I ran a 4" sceptre flexible intake hose for mine, and it came with the two couplers for the ends that I used to attach to the air box and put through the cowl hole. I'll probably look into something more secure for the cowl part, but it's survived Mojave Road and other wheeling now so I'm not rushing. Honestly, the noise increase is minimal. I only notice it when I'm accelerating hard with no music on, but I only ride with no music on to listen to the noise it makes cuz it sounds cool lol. It's barely louder than my MT/Rs when wide open tho. At cruising speed it's silent, and I don't feel like it's ever competed for air with this mod, but I don't use it enough to be certain.

I also feel like throttle response has improved, and with that my auto tranny with stock gears on 35s doesn't drop to 3rd or 2nd any time I need to accelerate. it seems to be able to more accurately place itself RPM-wise within its current gear or the proper gear...if that makes sense.

Overall: 100% happy with this mod

Well, as some have heard, the truck and I were in an accident a couple weeks ago. On a cold, dark, rainy night, I was rear-ended going around a curved on-ramp by a vehicle riding my ass, spun 180*, and slammed going sideways and backwards into a light pole and then went down into an embankment (forward thankfully). Thankfully, I'm fine and nobody else was in the truck with me (not even pupperino). Unfortunately, the other vehicle took off...probably thought I wasn't gonna come out of that one without needing some pieces put back together like Humpty Dumpty, but Geico is taking really good care of me and my truck. 15 minutes may have saved 15% or more, but being treated with care and respect like a human being in a situation like this is priceless. On that same note, big thanks to @JLee for making a beefy ass rock slider strong enough to take the brunt of the impact to save the truck, frame and myself. Anyway, here's some pics of the damage and some teasers from the body shop...
