Hey TW! First time installing a lift here and I need some troubleshooting. I'm doing the no-spring-compressor method and everything's going smooth so far: removed the old assembly, put in the eibach stage 1 set to the lowest clip, and greased the cam bolts while i was at it.

I got to the point where I have to reattach the lower ball joint back to the steering hub but I'm having troubles closing off the gap to reattach the bolts. When I lift the LCA, it ends up lifting the whole truck rather than just bringing the LCA up closer to the steering hub. What am i doing wrong? Do I have to disconnect the sway bar or something?

Try the sway bar or you can disconnect the upper control arm which should allow that to drop freely

Gotta make sure the top of the shock is going through the bushings and top hat. I made that mistake on my first try. The shock was hitting the bushing up top and just lifting the whole truck rather than passing through the hole and compressing the spring.

Just did this past Saturday. Worked out well. I have a question though. I read to lift LCA and compress spring at the end before torque my LCA bolts. Is this correct? I guess it doesn’t matter as I will be getting it aligned next Monday. Sorry to Jack your thread:)

If I remember correctly the alignment bolts are connected to the lower control arm. Try loosening them so you have more play in raising the control arm.

Disconnect sway bar. You’ll be able to pull UCA down to reconnect.

Like he did in post 3? :D

Yes. Torque in compression, not droop. Prevents binding and destroying bushings.

Recommend redoing. Alignment won't touch all the points that need your attention (bottom of the shock for example)
