Just curious if any of you have noticed this. On my 19 when i engage 4wd sometimes the icon flashes on the dash for like 30 seconds or so while other times it goes in almost immediately. While flashing the odd thing is that the 4wd starts working while its still flashing.

Yep, I regularly get this. Sometimes when I turn on 4h, it will flash for a while before finally engaging. Other times it's immediate.

I've even had a couple times when I switched to 4h, I didn't even get the flashing. It was like nothing happened. The 4WD switching in these trucks can be very finicky, I've found.

While it is flashing, it's "thinking" about engaging or dis-engaging. Perfectly normal. If you are stopped, try moving, if you are moving, stop. It's not engeged until the light stays solid.
(I should say it's not in the commanded position)

Right, but the issue is sometimes it really has to think long and hard to make the switch, and other times it's instant. lol

Yep. Perfectly normal. My 2nd gen did the same thing.
