    Hey all,

What is everyone’s recommendation for a Truck Was Kit? I read good things about Chemical Guy kits. Has anyone used them?

Chemical guys stuff is good, they actually sell a lot of it at Walmart, and I've seen some at autozone.
The wash n gloss shampoo is a really good car was soap.
VRP is really good for tires, black trim, especially good on the black plastic on the bumper and the rails of the taco.

I wouldn't buy a kit personally because it's going to have stuff you don't need, or stuff that is overpriced.
I get cheap microfibers from walmart or autozone gives them away with purchase of a certain item.
I use at least a half dozen microfibers washing my truck, and at least 2-3 plush drying towels, most "kits" only have enough stuff to wash your hood.
Harbor freight has good cheap brushes and towels.

I personally use Trinova's Car Wash Kit.
Other than their clay bar, everything else has been great.
The waterless wash and wax is better than a quick detailer.

Two buckets, microfiber cloths, and your choice of car soap.

You could go a farther then this of you like, but it is a truck...

Never use a chamois. Always microfiber towels to dry.

Chemical guys is ALL overpriced. Go with a Meguiars kit. All you need is a wash, wax, clay bar and maybe a polish. I’d go with meguiars interior retailer for insides. A leather conditioner if you have leather. And a glass cleaner. Aerospace 303 for plastics and rubber. Then a mit and some microfibers and a waffle drying towel.

Chemical guys aren't anything special. Just good marketing.

Just get 2, 5 gallon buckets and a grit guard for one and about 3 mitts and a wheel/tire brush. Hose down the truck to get any loose dirt and other debris off the best you can. You don't want to be dragging small rocks and twigs over your paint. Wash the truck top down using 1 mitt per section (and only use that mitt for that section) and rinse. I like to wash the wheels/tires first. Then do the roof, and windows as 1 section, the hood, grill, fender and upper half of the doors as another section and lastly the bumpers and lower half of the door as a 3rd. Every time you finish a section, rinse the soap off the truck and spray the mitt while rubbing it on the grit guard to get gunk off the mitt. I actually have holes in my bucket where the grit guard is so the dirty water drains away. When it's all clean, use an electric leaf blower to get all the water out of the channels or you'll have drip marks later on. Then dry with a few waffle weave towels.

If your paint feels really gritty even after you wash it, you might want to get a clay bar. They're all pretty good as long as they include the detailing spray/lubricator. After you clay, make sure you wax or seal. I prefer a sealant because it lasts longer in my area.

Don't waste your money on "carnuba enhanced" or other silly car wash soaps. A regular bottle of megs purple does the trick.

Hope that helps. Check out the link in my sig if you want to get rid of some light scratches or trail pinstriping too.

I am trying to buy a power washer for the cars and house. The less you touch your car to wash it, the better!

which one are you looking at?, I almost got the harbor freight one this past weekend but the reviews scared me. I'm thinking about springing for the SUN JOE spx3000 it's about $150 I'm just worried I'll use it two or three times and then it will sit in the garage.

I have a Green Machine. About a hundred bucks at Lowes. It’s been awesome for several years now.

I have a Ryobi 1600 PSI power washer.
Got it on clearance for $89 at Homedepot.

Paired it with a foam cannon.
Makes cleaning the whole truck a breeze.
Good for getting to hard to reach areas too.

Chemical guys stuff is the real deal in my opinion. ESPECIALLY their under armor black shine thing (purple liquid) and their vinyl dressing armor all type one (white liquid). These two I got off of Amazon and WOW they really restore stuff, with no grease and it stays black for a long time. Don't hesitate on these two products especially if you have an off road trim with the black flares. I use it inside even.
