Is there a 2.7L cold air intake from afe? I can't find anything except K&N, which I've been reading poor reviews of. I like the totally enclosed airbox that still utilizes the fender vent for air with a short connection. I'm looking for a throatier intake without risking damage or decreased longevity to the engine.

    Suggestions?

This kit for 05-15 fits 3rd gen's as well. I installed one of these 2.5 years ago and its on my 2016 SR 2.7L!

Thanks for the info! Really excited to get one now. Did you do the oiled or dry filter?

    Hydrolocking concerns?

Dry works great, will never get a oiled one again!

I'm going to be really selfish and ask you to post a video of the intake sound when you have time.

I know it's not going to sound as drastic as a header or exhaust system but still I'm curious if you can hear a difference.

See if someone makes a plain tube to replace the resonator that mounts on top of the valve cover. All the sound, much more money remaining in your pocket.

The afe has instructions on their website for each intake. If it's similar it should be a matter of unplugging the battery and letting the ECU relearn. Right?

Replacing the OEM intake track, designed for turbulent-less air, with a CAI tube will cause a less optimal closed loop operation of your ECU/EMU. Unless you road tune at every pedal position, not just WOT like most Dynos, you will most likely lose HP and engine longevity with an aftermarket intake.

What you gain is a false 'butt dyno' improvement in acceleration due to the louder drone now being heard.

Would removing the resonator box preserve laminar flow? I just want some bark to go with the i4 bite.

I DO want a butt dyno, I think it makes a stick-shift more fun, but of course I don't want to sacrifice any engine longevity or performance.

I'm raising the alarm bell! I emailed HPS to ask if they would make a resonator bypass tube specific to 3rd gen 2.7's and here is their response:

    "Hi Peter,

Thanks for your inquiry and feedback.

We forwarded the request to our R&D team and they will be working on this in the next couple weeks. The lead time for the first prototype is about 2 months from now.

    Best Regards,

I have the K&N oiled cold air intake. I’ve had it on my truck for 4 years now. I do not recommend it for this reason alone: it sounds like a redlining Honda Civic . You’d think after 4 years I would’ve removed it by now but nah I’m lazy haha. Plus, there not cheap. The K&N intake does provide noticeable HP gains which is awesome for this little engine but I just hate the sound. Going up hills is the worst, drivers in surrounding vehicles will notice you . I’m finally going to swap it out for an aFe intake.

1" rear drop. Currently sits 34.5" in the front and 35.0" in the rear.
    Have they made this yet?
