    Bad customer service experience:

I purchased foam cupholder/tray inserts, colored vent rings and glovebox letters from Tacomabeast within a week of getting my new Tacoma. I properly cleaned all surfaces with alcohol and let dry prior to installing. After a couple of days in the Florida heat most of the kit was coming loose or was all together falling off. The color match to my inferno interior trim was also a very bad color match. The color is about 5 shades a different color- not even a close match. I contacted customer service and after a few days they responded with a return authorization. They have had my return for two weeks now, they responded today two weeks later -after multiple phone call and email attempts. I also included pictures to them of said items falling off and losing adhesive hold to the plastic interior. The letters were coming off, the vent rings were also popping loose and the foam inserts were curling and losing hold. They basically told me I'm SOL, their items are not defective and they would send their products right back to me or discard them. I have included their actual emails to me.
They approved the return first then denied it two weeks later. I’m sure the products stick to each other as they claim , anyone who has used blue painters tape or duct tape knows it may not hold onto a particular surface but it sure does stick to itself well. What they don’t do is have a proper hold on plastic interior pieces on my truck in my climate. I did not save the pictures of the products coming off as they already gave me a return authorization. They did not respond in a timely manner to my multiple inquiries , approved a return authorization, then denied it making me pay shipping twice.

Update: PayPal sided with me and gave me a full refund.

I want to say thank you to: Tuffskinz who contacted me directly and we were able to talk about the situation in depth on the telephone. They are the makers of the product who then use other vendors such as Tacomabeast to sell their products. They were fantastic to deal with an offered a few different options to me to try and make things right. I declined any replacement products. I am not trying to take advantage of the situation or get anything for free. I was refunded in full by Paypal so for me the matter is over with.

I hear bad things about them all the time. Don't think I'll be buying from them. Thanks for the info.

If I was in your shoes I would try to elevate this issue beyond Manny F. Often the first line of customer service has little authority to help resolve issues. Maybe you would get more traction with a request for a customer service lead or supervisor, and feel free to mention that your current situation is being discussed publicly on a popular forum. Hope they do the right thing.

I ordered these before the recent carving incident. I got a return authorization prior to shipping them back or else I would have just kept them or trashed them. My point of this post was to warn others about the poor customer service. I didn't install these items wrong or have them for several years. The adhesive failed after only a couple days. A company should stand behind their products and try to work out something with their customers.

Humidity and adhesives don't like one another (especially during install). Sorry for your troubles and wish you the best of luck.

Off road parts are a little different than interior trim pieces. You can order glovebox letters on Amazon and they'll refund without even having to send them back.

Of course someone doesnt want to take a return on coilovers after you off roaded them, but this is pretty basic customer service. Amazon does it because its cheaper in the long run, not out of the goodness of their heart.

Edit: if you go out of your way to support the "little guy" and you get burned it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I didn't save the pictures but it's self explanatory, the sticky side didn't stay stuck to my plastic interior parts.

What is this sticky crap they are putting on their dash. Why would you want to put stickers on your dash. Just sounds like a dumb idea to me.

I stopped buying outside Magazine years ago, got tired of all the anti-fossil fuel articles sandwiched between the articles about trips to Iceland, Thailand, etc., guess airplanes run on solar or something.

Its for the virtue signaling social justice warrior crowd now.

Now hang on, we’re not talking about returning something because he doesn’t want it and changed his mind. The product is defective. This is not a return issue, it’s an issue of not getting what the OP paid for.

Hey OP — call your credit card company if you paid with one and file a dispute since you got a defective product. If you used PayPal I think there may be a protection there as well.

Sounds like they also rejected his argument that the gear was defective. RFAs are typically provided for warranty claims too. But they can’t cite their return policy for a claim of defective merch.
