Rear end is higher than the front?

The shocks look pretty new as do the rear leaf springs. It looks like the rear leaf springs are also more heavy duty than my old Tacoma. How can I fix it so that the rear isn't jacked up 3" higher than the front?

 

Put some Billy 5100's in the front

 

Is there a way to just lower the back to where it should be other than throwing a few fat women in the bed?

I'd like the avoid having to buy new shocks and springs for the front if I can.

 

do a spring under axle conversion?

Just what I was thinking

 

Load the bed up to capacity. Drive it around. The springs will settle down some. Then you'll know exactly how much you need to add to the front to be happy.

 

I hope by stock set you don't mean the incredibly crappy OEM Toyota springs? The ones we all pay good money just so we can throw them in garbage? Or do you mean at least an aftermarket Wheeler's or Alcan set?

x2 on pics, including any stenciled info on the leafs that might indicate the mfg. Also be sure to snap pics of the rear shackles, which could also be the source of lift (unlikley, but just to eliminate the possibility).

Also, you may have the combined effect of a lift in the back with worn-out coils in the front. How many miles on the truck? Shocks ever been replaced? How does it handle? Might be worth it to put 5100s on the front if the orginal shocks are shot. They were engineered specifically for leveling the front end using the stock coils.

How many mile on this puppy? Heck, what year is it? Your profile says 97 access cab manual, and it ain't that....

Your shocks are stock OEM all around, and your coils are too, you can tell the collapsed progressive rate part of the coil at top (see how the space between the coils is different?). Perhaps your shocks have been replaced with more OEM shocks form Toyota at some time, but if not, I doubt they are up to snuff. Is your ride bouncy at all? Prone to veering off when you hit minor bumps?

I don't have a DC so I'm not positive, but the stock leafs on the Xcab had 3 leafs plus an overload (the thick puppy at the bottom). If DCs had the same setup, it looks like you have an AAL in there. But I'll the the DC guys verify that.

Actually, I am puzzled by the squared-off end cuts on the middle two leafs. I think mine were tapered/rounded more like the lower leaf. Those two might both be new leafs. The pros will need to chime in on that.

It's a 2003 double cab with 154k on it.

The ride seems fine. My 97 bounced all over the road(needed shocks) but this one feels fine.

 

That don't look like my setup the leafs might have helpers or AAL. Did the person you bought it from tow a boat?

I don't know much about the DC suspension.

 

It came from a dealer but has a tow hitch on it. No idea what they did with it. Maybe they did a lot of towing. It would explain why my torque converter is making whining noises.
