hey guys I know the part numbers are different but... can a 97 ecu for a non distributor coil pack 2.7 with a w59 manual transmission work in a 98 2.7 with a w59 manual trans mission? Has any one done this?
    thanks

Are you asking about Coil pack vs Non coil pack? If so both of those have a diff ECU and harness from I've read.

Re-read your question. I feel like you may have miss-typed something.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I have the pinout cross reference sheet if you want it, if the pins match I don't see why you couldnt

I thought there was a fair amount of different between 1997 and 1998. I use a 2000 wiring manual for my 1998 since it was the closest thing I had and a few things were different, notably wire colors and pin positioning of certain computer modules.

I know the early 97s are a lot different then the late 97s. They went from distributor to coil packs. but not sure about the late 97s to early 98s
