Total chaos IMO makes the best looking and functioning bed stiffeners.

Hey guys, don’t mean to hijack the thread. I currently run a ARE classic without tracks. Was wondering what prices you all were paying to add them on? Also heard there are two different types of tracks Thule and Yakima. What are you all running? Also have the total chaos bed stiffeners.

Post directly above yours has my Thule rails with a Full Prinsu rack. It came on the shell as an extra. Think it was like $150 or something. They work great. Everyone I know with a shell uses the Thule rails. But I'm sure the Yakima ones are similar.

The tracks are universal and super easy to install, measure twice, drill once! you will notice on the inside of your shell there is a reinforced area, use it and do not take for granted that it is square, many are not. Measure twice drill once!

Also your front bumper and wench set up is clean as fuck! Which brand did you go with?

Hey man, thanks for the info. I went with a southern style slimline bumper and a smittybuilt 12k synthetic line winch. I think it looks good. Look pretty slick with the new set up I’m running.

Keeping this one alive. I'm about to put rails and Yakima system on my Leer 100R to mount Maggiolina RTT. Trying to find the height of Thule system as I'd rather keep it as low as possible

Did you ever knock this out? How did the RTT do on the Leer 100r?

I run a Prinsu toprac and a cabrac on my TRD OR with a Leer shell. It works well for my Yakima SkyRise 3 and Slim Shady. Fuel economy takes a pretty dramatic hit with the tent on, but only about 1/3 MPG with the topper and racks.

I have this tent and am thinking about getting the toprack for my shell, any pics of it mounted up? I'm curious about how high it will be off the roof. I was thinking of taking this setup on a long road trip this summer, curious about how dramatic of a hit we are talking MPG wise? Might be better to just sleep in the shell for a super long trip lol

Did you get the sportsman option with this for added reinforcement?

I have a snugtop with sportsman package, prinsu rack, tepui tent, rago fab bed stiffners and dobinsons 2 in lift with heavy springs.

Before the lift the suspension lost most of its travel. Te bed stiffners also really helped the feel off road. The high centered weight feels a lot better with the stiffners.

Never really had any problems. Only regret so far is not getting the win doors on the topper. The RTT can also be quite noisy in high elevation, windy conditions. We have had a few pretty rough nights of sleep due to the wind. It probably wouldn't have been much better with a ground tent

Should also add that I remove the entire prinsu rack in the winter instead of ruining my knuckles trying to unbolt the tent from the rack.

You could go with an aluminum shell if you’re worried about strength of fiberglass. I have an Alucab canopy with a 150lb Autohome hardshell on top that I keep on full time. There’s also RLD which is all stainless. I think Camp King makes a metal shell too.

I have a snugtop, but I don’t have the sportsman package, so I'm worried about the structural integrity if I were to put a RTT, plus a few occupants. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
