What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thank you. Obviously a bumper is a little more involved but doing this exhaust is very simple. I ended up doing a v-band clamp flange (Amazon) aft of the cat for easy assembly/disassembly and went to NAPA and got an assortment of exhaust angles to play around with (2.25”) and I did a borola muffler but I liked the sound of my flowmaster more to be honest.

 

Put the finishing touches on the rear shock relocate. Added Ruff Stuff weld on resi mounts.

 

Got new wheels & tires installed yesterday I'll post some more pics after work

This morning I woke up early, before the blizzard hit, went down to Lowes and got a generator and some gas, then took it to haul my friend's labradoodle and Goldendoodle to the trainers (before they decided to close for weather), then back to her place to put her snowblower together, then to Panera to pick up some pastries to settle in, cozy up, and survive the snow.

From the time I left at 0640 to the time I pointed the truck back to my home at ~0900 the skies went from clear to about 40 yards visibility and clear wet roads to about 2" of wet-pack. The little Taco handled it without a hiccup.

One thing that I don't like about the truck (and a way it suffers from the Silverado it replaces) is that I have to be at 45mph to engage 4x4. I could hit the 4x4 at any speed on the Chevy...

If you kept the resi's attached with the tape it would have made it a unique build.

 

What? you should be able to be at any speed, below 62 mph, and engage 4hi. Doesn't make any sense to have to be exactly at 45 mph to engage 4x4.

 

I don't believe that's true. Where did that info come from?

 

It can be engaged at speeds below 62mph

 

I engaged mine in reverse yesterday when I got caught in a foot of slippery slush in my driveway.

 

What does the jig look like?

 

It's a press with 90 degree fixture and a socket that I bend the round part over

 

If you don't mind sharing a picture of what it looks like I would be interested in seeing it.

Thanks. I have been bending license plate brackets with a metal bender from HF. If there is a better mousetrap out there that I can use I am all for it.
