Doing a bunch of repairs... anything I should replace while I'm elbows deep?

So I'm fixing a bunch of crap on the Taco:
Rack and Pinion
Driver Side CV and seal
UCAs
Clutch
head gasket seal...

Anything else I should replace while I have it apart to prevent future repairs? I was planning on doing the transmission seals as well possibly? Oh and the truck currently has 120K on it.

Be a good time to do those seals since you'll have the transmission off anyway to do the clutch.

Maybe consider doing your lower ball joints too with new OEM ones if they are the originals...these trucks are notorious for having weak LBJs

 

Slave Cyl
Throw Out bearing
Rear Main Seal
Inspect U joints
Inspect Engine Mounts
Lower control arm bushings
Ball joints

 

V6 I assume? If so, was the T-belt and water pump done at 120k?
Head gasket, or valve cover gasket?
Consider a new fuel filter too. This is what came out of mine at about 140K

 

Ok so lower ball joints, slave cylinder, and throw out bearing, along with front and rear seals?

 

Checked out my fuel filter already when I replaced the overflow check valve. Timing belt was done around 110

 

What about the Low Range lower balljoints onstead of OE?

 

check the tranny and transfer case mounts also!

 

Cool. Oops, I meant due at 90k...standard manual interval.

 

I would stick with OEM...there are a lot of threads on here in the lower ball joint issues these trucks have and it's due to a poor design, but OEM is the highest quality part you can get for it. There are a lot of horror stories on here from those that have bought aftermarket LBJs...an LBJ failure can be catastrophic

 

Sounds good. I also have a lift on the truck and use it for wheeling every now and then too so that probably a good idea

Check valves

 

Why are you replacing your upper control arms? Are you upgrading, or are the bushings just worn?

You may as well check on the bushings while you're in there. Look for any that are deteriorating or allow a lot of slop.

 

Upgrading. I put on allpro UCAs

 

Don’t forget about that dam fan bracket bearing, it should be replaced when the timing service is done.

Mine failed twice so I now replace mine every timing belt service now.

 

Change the front diff fluid, when you pull a CV you will have to top the diff off anyways so might as well make it all fresh
