I thought they were progressive springs that end at 700, but are much lower during initial travel?

I am seeing my 600lb springs settle to lower than TRD but higher than SR coils, but the fact that my front axle is much lighter plus I was using a .25” spacer on both sides throws pretty much any good mathematical extrapolation out the window.

No, no. A 700lb coil spring rating means it takes 700lbs to compress the spring one inch. After one inch, it takes more. I forget the multiplier.

If you have 650 coils with that kind of weight, I'd set it to a maximum of 2.5" of preload on the spring to get the ride height you want. If you need more, your spring could be too light.

That being said, I'm on 700lb coils with 2" of preload on the driver side with 160lb bumper and ifs skids.

Not sure. I know ADS is progressive compression and digressive rebound though. The only shock company I’ve heard of that does this out of the box

I’m talking about progressively wound springs that change rate through their travel. On a linear rate spring there is no multiplier, a 700 in/lb spring will deflect 2 inches under 1400 lbs and 3 inches under 2100 lbs and so on.

A progressive spring has tighter or looser coils throughout its travel and alters the overall spring rate depending on force applied.

    An exaggerated example:

    upload_2019-3-13_13-28-33.jpg
    That’s shocks, not springs.

I was talking about shocks (I know).

I’m pretty sure ADS’s Eibach springs are linear because when I look at them there is equal spacing between coils

Looking at buying this suspension. How is everyone liking it so far? Looks like you can only get max 2.5” of lift(if you bumper and stuff). Is that about right?

700 spring, without adjustable compression but going with extended travel

Why would you want more lift? More than 2” and CV angles start to really suffer. This is at 1.75” front. 700# springs ext travel 265/70/17 tires. Rides great after springs break in.

    Just gotta ask!

That’s great that it rides really good on the extended travel.

I have #700 on the ADS shocks and glad I got them as I added bumper, winch and skids, sliders so the weight to spring ratio is probably good, but I don't think I made it 300 pounds heavier, but love the ride. Wish I did this sooner.

I am glad I went with #700 lb coils, same setup

Which shock tower relocations did you end up going with?

With bumper skids and sliders you definitely hit 300lbs. I run a lo-pro half bumper with winch and skids and it’s 300# almost exactly

I figured anything aft of the front wheels was not a lever directly on the front springs. I had to crank them up a bit after the winch and bumper though. Just glad I went with the 700s. Love the shocks though

This is true, sliders affect the weight on all shocks

Probably best course would be just start calling places to see who has some in stock. Headstrong offroad, downsouth motorsports, @4Running Daily, @MCM
