If you have a welder anything is possible. But I believe so, someone else was asking that yesterday. I think the conclusion was that the resi mounts might be different.

Yes, but 5th gen Kings come standard with a 550# coil. Provided resi mounts will be different as well iirc

Plus do you really want ford parts on your Tacoma? Gonna bring the reliability down.

She all charged with nitrogen now. ADS recommended 150 psi at full droop so I’m running with that for now. But holy bypasses Batman the noise they make is loud. It’s a constant slew of popcorn-popping sounds with the ADS tubes... I love it. :burnrubber:

There’s still a couple inches more droop left too.

Bypass clicking shouldn’t be too bad for street use, especially without a cage. I do notice it offroad though.

Long time lurker but figured since everybody seems to be doing dmz installs Figured I would post some pics. Still need to plate the outside frame and make mounts for the bumps. Just waiting on my driveshaft to be done and to finalize pinion and put the bed back on the truck

Nice looking cage. What are those extra bars at the tailgate end of the bed for?

Thanks, ya fits with the bed. Was running it with some smooth body 16s and a 12 leaf Deaver spring over pack for the last year

    That's a good point :)

I've got a local custom spring guy, so it will be close to F150 geometry, but not quite.

The whole purpose is to pull 12" to 14" of travel and carry 1800# in the bed. That's just not happening without going to a wider leaf.

Have you called deaver? I’m sure they could work something up. Not sure who your spring guy is, but I’d at least get their opinion on it.

Well, I am getting carried away with my rear LT install. Want to do all the welding I may ever want in the back now so I don’t have to strip paint off down the road. After seeing the hatch that @89ztrain had on his to put gear in I decided to do one too. Since I didn’t originally plan it and the frame cross braces I did are in the way the opening will be a bit smaller but I should still be able to get my jack, some straps, and some spare parts in there.

Stayed tuned while I figure out how to box this thing in.

Yup. Their 11 leaf design is good up to about 1200# above stock weight, even in the DMZ long travel version. They can build an HD pack that will handle any weight you want, but it's thicker leaves and less travel.

What really got me going on the ford route was seeing the Deaver f150 version of the 11 leaf pack, which has exactly the same increments of weight above stock as the taco packs.

The relationship between length of the pack, width of the pack and leaf thickness all have to be traded off to hit a particular set of travel and load rates.

So it's either do some pointless and difficult fabrication work, or put the truck on a 600# diet :) I think we all know which way that's going to go.

I'm debating between this and a secondary fuel tank in the that space.

Diet it is huh. I can’t imagine what you’re loading that you have 1800lb of shit in the bed unless 500lb of it is a bucket of lead. I’d get the truck loaded and weighed and then realize you won’t be carrying that all the time.
