It’s the bushmaster 1.0, and yeah you can just tell CBI to leave the side hoops off. I have the same bumper.

Interesting. I didn't realize you could do that. Wonder how the bushmaster w/out hoops looks with the dual swingouts...

That’s exactly what I did man.

Yup. I do remember calling around when shopping for my front bumper. Some companies wouldn’t let you “customize” your order. Pretty much whatever they offered was what you could choose from and that was it. So props to CBI and Shrockworks for letting me make some small changes to their products.

To me the side hoops without a swing out look a little out of place...like something is missing. The opposite setup (swingout but no side hoops) would still look clean in my opinion.

Back in 2013 you posted the 02 Taco had NAPA calipers and OEM rotors.
After six years how has that setup held up for ya?

Still running the same brake setup (Tundra calipers, rotors and pads with wheelers extended brake lines). Replaced the pads and rotors once so far (mainly cause I was prepping to tow a car). This setup went from my extra cab (white truck) to my double cab and back. Still my favorite mod/upgrade on the truck.

I've been slacking on doing that upgrade...

What kind of car did you tow? I've been thinking I might barely be comfortable towing my E30 if I had the tundra brake upgrade and a separate trans cooler on my truck.

Towed a CRX with an auto transport rented from UHaul (heavy as hell) and about few hundred pounds of parts/tools in the bed. Probably not the best idea since part of the drive included a pretty good grade. Made it home safely though...it was about a 4-5 hour drive.

The brakes held up great but the drive train was definitely suffering. Halfway up the grade we stopped for about an hour to check on the truck and give it a bit of a break. I don't have a trans cooler but have never had any trans issues with my truck. I also don't tow often. I'm sure you'll be fine if you use a tow dolly but if you use an auto transport/flat bed like I did, I don't recommend it (I mean, maybe if for a shorter distance and if most of your drive will be on flat ground, that might work).

Beautiful... I just received my tundra brakes from Autozone. All Duralast stuff - looks pretty good. I think some of the casting around the edge of the rotors could look a little nicer. The reason I asked is I've read the Napa rotors look the same. But sounds like they've worked out great for you!

I actually went with Napa calipers only. The rotors and pads I went with OEM/Toyota. For the pads there are two part numbers from Toyota, I went with the ones that have a larger surface area. I chose the OEM rotors for the reasons you stated.

Do you know what part number you used for the pads?

Got my info from this thread: Comparison pic between the two OEM/Toyota pads that fit the Tundra calipers:
    upload_2019-3-13_14-35-40.jpg

Picture of the "full" pad's part number and box:
    upload_2019-3-13_14-36-5.jpg

Picture of the shims needed for the full pads from Toyota (the chamfered/smaller pads come with shims):
    upload_2019-3-13_14-36-30.jpg

@turbodb uses the same pads/shims in his write up here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-and-adventures.484602/page-10#post-16331518

Good luck with the upgrade, it's well worth it!

That pic was taken from the link above it. The first picture is a comparison picture between the two types of OEM/Toyota pads that work with the Tundra calipers. Second picture is the box the "full" pads come in and their part number. Third pic is of the shims needed for the full pads (they don't come with shims like the smaller/chamfered pads do).

I edited my initial post to include these descriptions.

You have a CRX now too? Planning on auto crossing it?

Had one years ago (my bro in law has it now). The plan was to restore/road race a crx I bought from a friend but I lost interest. So I sold it.

Sorry missed that. I've been on TW all day. I got the Duralast Max pads (non chamfered). I assume the non chamfered are preferable?
