    @OVTune

Stupid question but replacing my battery wouldnt default my ECU back to a factory tune would it?

No,the OVTune overwrites the factory tune,at best you cleared learned values and may notice some odd behavior until it "relearns" trims.

It finally warmed up enough to dry out the roads a bit and I was able to go play with the Torque app for the first time. For reference truck has 265/75/16 E tires, sliders bumpers/winch/gear 5200# est.

DISCLAIMER Testing was done on a lonely county road right where pavement turns to gravel, zero traffic and seat belt was worn ;)
It's no speed demon but it pulls hard all the way to 7k....:burnrubber:

Keep in mind that not all reviews will be up to date and reflect the current iteration of the tune (1.05B). For example, I posted when on 1.03 and updated it when on 1.04A I think (?) and that was late spring/early summer I think. I never updated my post after that. I doubt others did either

In addition, it's a little unreasonable to ask for just quantitative data over word of mouth, since that means you can basically only go off of what Mat says and posts with regards to hard numbers from Dyno runs, and no one/nothing else. Which means you should actually ignore the review thread. So if purely quantitative data is all you're after, you'll be severely limiting yourself since even people's reports of fuel economy and whatever else shouldn't be included in your compilation of data, due to differences in driving styles, mods, and just the plain finnicky behavior each individual truck clearly displays.

TL;DR is that you're doing yourself a disservice by searching for an extremely small pool of information to base your decision off of: to buy or not to buy.

I just got OVtune a few weeks ago and had been driving on the 87 FOB for the first two and thought it was a nice upgrade from stock, but the throttle mapping was too twitchy, mainly when on trailing throttle down hills -- just breathe on the gas pedal and you're accelerating when I meant to just maintain a constant speed. The last week or so I've been on the 91 FOB tune and it seems much less twitchy.

I thought it was twitchy at first. Now that I’ve got a few hundred miles on it, it doesn’t bother me. Not sure if it settled down a little or I just got used to it.

FOB is for manual. It's a modified Full OTTO version for us. Base and FOB applies to manual. All other versions are auto.

One thing I noticed when I did my test runs yesterday, you cannot launch this truck no matter how hard you try. Dead spot from stop,it bogs terribly, would be a pita/dangerous if you were stopped and needed to GTFO of something coming your way....

Disagree. You can launch it, but you'll be slipping the clutch way more than you'd like to

Yeah, I'll be the third wheel here and respectfully disagree about both? :D

I can't say that 8sec-ish 0 to 60 has bog or is slow and I don't feel that it takes much slip to do it.

I'm still not sure if I want to post the vids publicly. ;)

And, I didn't get a chance to try some while I was on FOB 87.

I tried slipping it a bunch and still same results, instant bog. FWIW I used to do some bracket racing back in the day in the SW division. I had an 83 Z28 w/5 speed and was pretty good in the lights...

I know it is not a race car but the flat/dead spot is how can I say it...BAD. Say you are sitting at a light and see someone careening out of control towards you. You hit the gas and dump the clutch to get out of the way and it bogs as the truck starts moving,it is a good two, three seconds before the engine catches up to the throttle demand.

It was real bad on the stock tune on my truck, better but still existed to an extent on the tunes. I haven't tried yet with FOB since its been slick and crappy around here.

I had it on the stock tune as well under "normal" driving conditions. Dead spot/bog/lag just off idle as you were pulling away from a stop under light/moderate acceleration. It was greatly improved with 1.03 IIRC and that was the one everyone said was too aggressive but IMHO was the best.
It may be because my truck is heavy and likes the extra grunt/aggressive tip in... The other version that seemed to do well was the original 1.04 FO? (pre TSB FO tune), my truck really liked that one.
