Back in the day we could keep our rifles in the truck, up in the rear window. Better times.

Open carry is overrated and kind of a douchy thing to do...screams “hey look at me, I got a gun, come at me bro”

We still can and walk down main st with them.
    I want constitutional carry!
Depends on the area and situation.
But it also can make people assume you are LEO which in some circumstances can be beneficial.
    Exactly!

Same. Conceal my shield in a t-shirt. I have a stealth gear and it's a pretty nice holster. I honestly don't have much experience with anything else though so not much to compare.

I only open while on my own property. Cant in SC anyway but I wouldn't even if I could. Totally agree. Look at me! I'm tacticool! It sets people off and makes others uneasy. I like the element of surprise. But it's not all bad. Time and place kinda thing.

Constitutional carry FTMFW. We legally carried rifles and pistols until what, 1934? I know it varies by state, thinking more along the lines of the GCA and FFL.

Roaring 20s is when it GC really started to become a Fed. push. But there is history of local GC dating back to the wild west era. I think you are right about when it really came to fruition

    To each their own.

Absolutely agree it’s situational and area related.

    Both have there benefits.

If I had the chance to be the douche with the pistol on my belt with my coat tucked back behind my holster vs other dude with slim hidden holster hiding my gear with a an “”untuck it shirt” who is most likely to get fucked with first.

Option A: You see it, come at me bro.

    Option B: Surprise mother fucker!

In overall basic security... you see a lock or alarm your more likely to leave it alone. If you don’t, you make be more likely to go for it to find out “ohh fuck”

Personally rather have the perp have that “Nah” moment than the “I got this!” By a visual, see it believe it type attitude.

Same reason my truck locks and my gear is secured, rather than just open and out for someone to think it is an “easy target”

I’m essentially posting a warning instead of just boobytrapping my property and say... let’s see who can’t read or doesn’t give a shit.

That said 99% of people ( out my ass statistic ) in an open carry state don’t. Because of the looks/reaction from the good % of people.

Crap, I had a cool post working, then my wife and kids were like time for bed wanting hugs and kisses...

Still in favor of the BAG permit.

Little guns, no one knows. Big ass guns, no one will fck with you. Really, who wants to jerk around with a guy sporting a .357 under his way too tight Under Armor?

Little ass guns, sure, no one knows you have it, and why wouldn't they draw first or otherwise do their dirty deeds since you don't have a gun... Big gun = better deterrent, unless you just want an excuse to shoot someone.

Went to Jacksonville to pickup my welder from Craigslist, listing seemed a little sketch, txts seemed a little sketch. Got out of the truck with my pistol holstered, he had his holstered, we had a non-verbal agreement, end of sketch and the welder works well enough for the money I paid.

Bought a Miata once where the guy was open carrying, I was concealed. I told him "guess I can put this away" and we had a good laugh about it.
